2015 NVP 3500 Headlight bulb replacement

Does anyone know where I can find instructions on how to replace the main Hi/Low headlight bulb in a 2015 NVP 3500?  I have searched the forum and youtube with no success. Thanks in advance for any help and bring on the insults for not knowing how to change a bulb. Ha!

It seriously could not be easier on this van, the engine bay is huge with so much room to work.  My wife's Honda Odyssey needs the removal of the whole front bumper, grill and headlight assembly to get to the bulbs!  

 

You can easily see the connector/harness that goes the bulb if you look at your headlight and then look at the housing in the engine bay to see which bulb sits where, we only have one headlight bulb (H13 is the model).

 

The harness plug has a red clip on it that locks it onto the bulb.  Gently pop that clip out (it slides backwards away from the bulb) using your fingernail or a small flat head screwdriver.

 

Squeeze the connector to release it from the bulb.

 

Bulb simply rotates about 45 degrees to release from the housing.  It will turn easily, turns only one direction, so you cant mess that up, just gently twist it and it will turn to release.

 

When replacing the bulb only fits in one specific direction due to key slots on the bulb and housing.  Remember how the bulb came out, line it up the same, insert the bulb and twist to lock again.  DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS OF THE BULB.  Oils/grease/etc on your fingers can create a hot spot on the glass of the bulb and cause it to fail early.

Snap the harness clip back on the bulb and slide the red lock tab back into position.

 

*** If you have a burned out bulb and are replacing with stock/aftermarket halogens you can go to most any auto parts store (Autozone, Pep Boys, O Reilley, etc) and if you buy the bulb there the employees will 99% of the time replace the bulbs for you, especially in something easy like this.  They wont if they need to actually take things apart like my wife's van.  ***

In my 2015 NVP the bulb on the right (when facing the van) cannot be reached well enough to turn it. It is also in too tight a space to get a tool on it. The only way I see its possible to change the bulb is to remove the whole headlight assembly. To do that it seems like there are two hex screws connecting the frame to the light assembly. Then there are clips that are behind the grill. I wasnt sure if there was a way to disconnect them without taking the whole grill (or panel below or above the grill) apart.

I'm surprised it's so difficult. I haven't tried it myself, but the instructions in the owner's manual make it look easy.

Too tight?  I am 6'2", 220 lbs and can easily get my hands in there to remove the bulb. I do it a lot actually since I have been trying different bulbs out from HID to LED. 

 

Like I already said, most auto parts stores will change it out.

I am guessing that goingape was referring to the side marker lights.  I was able to get mine out but getting them back in has not been easy.  I've not been able to get them to twist back in to the lock position after I removed them (which took a lot of effort and a pair of pliers to grip and twist).  The lack of space and the force needed to get them to twist back in makes it seem to me like removing the housing will be the only way to make it happen.

I know it's an old post but I came across it while trying to figure this out for myself.  I found my DRLs, side markers and passenger side (only) headlight were not working.  Based on what I've found I must have a bad relay.

I was having a similar problem trying to twist the new bulb when replacing.  Noticed that the new bulb had a red rubber ring around it, and there was one loose in the housing (I’m assuming from the previous bulb).  I removed it and the new bulb mounted clean and easy.
