Just Bought New Wheels & Tires....Do I Need A Lift Kit?

Recommended Posts

I have been racking my brain doing online research trying to determine if I will need a suspension lift in order to avoid rubbing, or any other issues, after swapping the stock wheels/tires for the aftermarket pair I just picked up by happenstance at a basement price.

The wheels are 20x9 and the tires are 285/60/20.

Question: will I need to get a lift prior to, or simultaneous to the install of these new wheels & tires?

I know there is a chance that I will need to shim the sliding door which is fine. My main concern is whether or not I am going to be able to mount these new tires and wheels and drive off onto the highway without having issues with turning/rubbing/etc.

Any ideas or input out there??

those tires/wheels are 35’s (34.6”)  I do believe you will need a lift for tire clearance.  Also make sure your slider  door clears
