3toyotasnv Posted November 11, 2013 New member here, and a proud owner ( 7 months ),of a 2012 NV2500 low roof with the 5.6L. Previous owner of a 2008 GMC savanna 2500 with the 6.0L. All i got to say is; What a huge improvement over the GM in every way! It's like driving a truck with some weight in the back, and quite comfortable as well. Mechanically, the NV has been sound with no complaints. I can't say enough about the ride quality vs. the other; worlds apart IMO. The GM felt like a tank going over bumps in the road, and the NV is as smooth as can be. Much better in the braking dept as well, with the huge brakes it has. Never felt confident with the GM brakes. All i got to say about the NV so far is; huge improvement! Oh, almost forgot; gas mileage has been a huge improvement as well. Averaging 14-16 mpg on non-ethanol fuel mid grade.
