HI everyone. We are waiting on our high top to be delivered. Planning to be a light camping-on-the-move unit. We are planning out the mechanical, insulation, panelling at this time. We will be looking over all of your posts for info and will hope to contribute at some point. Appreciate the site!

Welcome to the group. You are going to love your new van.

This is a great group that treats each other with respect. Most posts are brief but always to the point with quality information.

Sprinter owners are chatty and go on and on about anything, BUT I have waded thru pages and pages of their posts to glean some good info on travel/camper/recreational conversions at Sprinter-Forum ( sprinter-source.com/forum ). I personally wouldn't buy a Sprinter, but the interior conversion process is basically the same.

Reading every post we have here will not take too much time and will really bring you up to speed on the NV.

Thanks, Wollip. I think the unit will be great. Built for work I see the strength of the structure on the unit and a reliable drive train. I am starting to buy materials for our interior. also thanks for the link to the sprinter forum: I'll check it out. Are you finished with your unit or working on it?

I'm at 90% finished. In two or three weeks I'll start posting some pictures. I've had the luxury of time as this coincides with our retirement.

Time to start traveling now and we are looking forward to it.

About three weeks ago I guess we hit optimum weight as the cabinets went in. What had been a comfortable ride became an unbelievably comfortable ride - and so far without degrading our mpg. I will weigh the finished result if I can find someplace with scales that aren't filthy.

As you are sourcing parts for your build, check out some marine sites. A boat is just an rv without wheels - and their stuff has to hold up to salt water.
