nvmx Posted October 3, 2023 Quick question for anyone with the 4.0L V6. Where does your oil pressure indicator on the dash usually show while the engine is running? All the owners manual says is that it should be in the middle of the gauge, but they don't specify a range or visually show what counts as "middle" like they do for battery voltage and trans temperature (see pages 2-6 and 2-7 of owners manual for what I mean if you're curious. Mine seems to sit steadily a little bit below the middle - the image shown in the manual shows it above the middle of the gauge, which makes me worry a bit that the oil pressure is on the low side. Thanks.
crusty Posted October 4, 2023 This is exactly why most vehicles don't even have an oil pressure gauge anymore. People are looking for an exact value it should be at. There isn't an exact number. I love the old industrial engines. There is a red band on either side of the green band in the middle. It is in the middle, it's good to go. What value is it? Doesn't have one. 1 radin2son reacted to this
