NV Tow and Sleeper

Recommended Posts

I am new to the site and the NV. My story appears to be a common theme. I purchased a Cargo 2500 HD V8 for a personal conversion for long hauls and trips (Sleeper) and to tow my Car trailer. Prior vehicle was an Awesome Tundra V8 but it just did not fit our current needs. We make frequent trips to FL from KY (Home of our near Future Retirement) and going to Porsche Shows and gathering (Porsche 356).

The site with all of its information has already been invaluable and hope to contribute as well (pay it forward).

Per request, I have added a photo of the 356 Convertible D Roadster (1959). The pride and joy of my collection.

Also the NV pulling my small cargo trailer on its first Florida trip 2 days after picking it up. Plain Jane at this point but already has gone through 3,000 dollars of transformation to conversion "Day Tripper"

Chris, maybe you can convince John E to pick up the GT-R that was in your showroom. It would look great on his car trailer, as well as on the road and track.

John, post a photo of your NV and 356.

Welcome John - I too got rid of a Tundra Crewmax for my NVP 3500 SL!  I miss the power but love the room.

Post photos of the 356 (and NV).  That Porsche is a true classic.

Thanks Guys for the warm welcome. Look forward to conversing with you. Pictures, as requested have been added to my original post.

ASD Dad, I found your post on installing the brake controller in the pocket on the dash. It was very helpful but more so a good laugh. I too, have a P3 that I removed from my Tundra that I just sold and decided that the best spot was in the dash pocket of my NV. THEN I found your thread. Glad to hear that I am not the only person that sold a 4x4 Tundra for my NV. Hoping it was a good decision but we really needed the extra room/sleeper for our trips.

Car is gorgeous! Were you able to get the P3 any more flush than I did? I still may mess with it more but it's very functional the way it is right now.

I loved my Tundra. Owned it five years and it had 83,000 miles on it when it was traded. I planned on driving it into the ground but we ran out of room! The NVP is doing nicely for the size and room it provides. Little less mpg, less power, but way more room and comfort for the family!

Thanks regarding the car comment.

I doubt that I was able to get it any more flush than you. I can deal with it even though I would like it to be more flush. It sounds like we had the same thoughts about the Tundra. I really liked it but we also have the same requirements of why it needed to be replaced with the NV.
