Running boards

Recommended Posts

As I'm looking for boards for my NVP, I see a lot offer 1 long and 1 short. Does anyone have pics of those? I find myself thinking it will look odd. It could just be my need for balance and symmetry. Did anyone do long boards on both sides? We're looking for all black boards if you all have any great recommendations.

I went through the balance and symmetry issue before going with one long/one short. But I have a white high roof converted for travel. While I am pleased with the look, with an NVP I might have gone for symmetry. Consider using the search function on the site to quickly gather some ideas - the subject has been pretty well covered in the past. There are also some photos in the gallery. Traffic has been so slow during the holidays that it might take awhile to get enough responses to represent what is available.

The main thing is, as you already know, you need a set!

Honestly, I think it's overkill to get a long running board on the side where just the driver steps in. It's already asymmetrical because that side is doorless for the passengers, so I think it looks normal to have a short one on that side. That's my take as far as aesthetics.

FWIW, I thought we would need running boards, but I waited as people on here advised me to do, and I'm pleasantly surprised to see the step in is not as bad as I thought. I do lift my 2 yo on to the step for him to climb the rset of the way (we run short), but he probably could climb in if I wanted. He does jump out with my assistance. My very petite 4 yo climbs in and out without a problem.
