  1. Thanks. I epoxy coated it several years back and it has held up well to lots of abuse. It was a lot of work to prep and apply the epoxy though!
  2. I just bought a Supreme Suspensions 3" Front, 2" rear leveling kit (available on Amazon and Ebay). Started installing it today but only got about 75% done with the drivers side when I figured out the bottom shock mount was now rotated 60 degrees. The strut spacer is a milled aluminum type (see attached) that bolts up to the top of the strut and has offset mounting holes to attach to the vans strut mount. Anyone who has done this before know if it is necessary to use a spring compressor to be able to clock the new mounting holes to the correct alignment? I hate using those things and would like to avoid it if at all possible. [EDIT] Does orientation of the shock matter? Meaning, could I have just turned this 180 degrees without it effecting the suspension geometry? If so, I feel like a bit of an idiot right now!
  3. Recently upgraded the wheels and tires. 18" Fuel Vapor with Nitto Terra Grappler G2 in 275/70/R18 A little rubbing on the door so added 1/4" body spacers.
  4. Does anyone who has upgraded the speakers in their NVP doors have the measurements for the opening (preferably without the factory mounting adapter)? Depth from the door surface to the nearest obstruction? If not, I guess I know what I'll be doing tomorrow night! Thanks, Andy
  5. Thanks again! So I have USPS/UPS/FedEx/DHL rolling up everyday over that last few days with packages containing all the units, cable harnesses and other pieces I'll need to do my install. My install will start with the Pioneer AVH-4200NEX feeding screens for each back row; overhead monitor for the first row, headrest mounted monitors for the second and third rows. I'll be utilizing a 5 channel Eclipse amp that I have had laying around for years which, for now, will just power a low profile sub mounted in a sealed enclosure in the rear left door. Replacement of all stock speakers may have to wait until it is approved through the finance committee...or I might just get a itchy trigger finger and click "buy now" on Amazon Prime late at night. Likely candidates are JL or Hertz. I have my work cut out for me. I'll start a new thread to document my progress.
  6. Thanks for all the helpful info. Pictures of the stock radio show brackets that secures the radio to the dash frame. Are these brackets reused on the aftermarket unit?
  7. Hi, I'm getting ready to install a Pioneer headunit and screens for rear seat entertainment system in my 2016 NVP. I believe I've gotten everything I need with the exception of a installation kit. I'm not sure if it is necessary since radios typically come with a mounting cage. From what I can tell it just fills any gaps between the stock opening and the new unit if there is any. Those of you who have already gone down this path, did you use a mounting kit from Metra, Scosche, or any of the others? Andy
  8. Has your husband tried the reclining seats in the Ford? They recline like an airline coach seat which, for my 6' 5" frame, was not very comfortable at all.
  9. It is just a run-of-the-mill Java NVP SL. So nothing out of the ordinary. here it is covered with a little snow at Lake Tahoe.
  10. Hmmm...I thought I was set to pull the trigger on the Luverne Mega running boards despite them being a bit blingy for my taste, but now seeing the black O-Megas it has me reconsidering them.
  11. aabel, I don't see the NV nerf bars on the Aluminess website. How much are they asking for them?
  12. Hi, I've been a member on the forum for several months as I pondered what family hauler to get. As a family of 8 we needed something to accommodate our 6 growing boys as the Honda Odyssey was pretty cramped. We test drove the usual suspects and ultimately decided on the NVP. Purchased our 2016 NVP SL in Java this past Friday, Veteran's Day. Let the modding begin (but shhh, don't tell my wife)! First purchase: running boards. And then wheels and tires. And then...and then... (automotive forums are bad for the wallet)! Andy
  13. Dented, what was the size of the U bolts that you had to get to fit the NV?
