Inside rear door driver's side pocket?
nv2500sl replied to walstib's topic in Accessories & Modifications
On the 2016 Cargo the drivers side rear door has a plastic compartment that is screwed into the door. The compartment is similar to the bottom of the front doors and is just an extra area to put things. If I remember there are 3-4 screws that hold it to the door. Google cargo van images or talk a dealer parts person that actually knows something about our vans for the part number if you want to add it. -
Had to replace the body side moldings on my 2016...all four pieces were installed incorrectly at the factory. You need to determine how high up the van you want them and install them straight. I installed them a little higher up on the vehicle than the factory did to help with SUV door dings. The factory instructions are way to detailed for this job...they're only plastic moldings. I used the body side creases to measure down from and applied a few 1/4" blue painters tape strips as my guides. It goes without saying to clean the area prior to installation. Obviously start at the body line at the front door first. Pull the two adhesive strips from one end of the molding then LIGHTLY adhere it to the vehicle. ( in case you have to adjust ) Once reasonably straight...pull the remaining adhesive cover strips off and press the molding on.

Why Choose Nissan NV over Ford Econoline?

Why Choose Nissan NV over Ford Econoline?
nv2500sl replied to klausvanwinkle's topic in Nissan NV 3500 HD
Drove Ford and Chevy Cargo vans for 30 years and the overall difference in all aspects is literally night and day. Nissan originally set out to redesign the full size van for the North America market and in my opinion knocked it out of the park! Everything about the NV is heavy duty and well thought out, Ford and Chevy's old designs were just that regurgitated year after year with zero interest given to people that drove them day after day because there were no competitors. I started researching this van 6 months prior to it originally being released I believe in 2010. Unless there is long term reliability issues down the road, I wouldn't even consider another manufacturers van. If you're seriously in the market, hope this helps. -
2016 Cargo Low Roof 5.6 Apx. 200lbs in the back. Freeway 75 mph flat terrain then stop and go on a few Surface streets for about one hour total. Transmission Temperature gauge showed 4 double bars. Outside temperature a cool 116 degrees today!

Thanks for checking yours for me...appreciate it ! Our AC units must be designed like that...would still like to know WHY. Seems like disengaging the compressor continuously would contribute to premature component failure. Probably not much of an issue for most but in Arizona we drive in 100 - 118 degrees for five to six months every year and it's very noticeable when the vents continuously blow warm air on and off.
-
It's been about a month now....have you had time to confirm or deny this is normal AC operation? Thanks

Just finished sound deadening and insulating. Used Lizard skin...pricey and takes considerable time to spray on but seems to do the job. Used spray foam in vans for years but it takes up wall and ceiling space and you couldn't do the floor.

Thanks for the input. Mine seems to be on the high side...there's a speedo shop in town that will read actuals at varying speeds and recalibrate. I'll post results if I visit them.
-
Thanks for the post....guess we'll see if others function the same.
-
Second fill up, used the odometer for total miles in mixed driving and got 11.7 mpg. My speedometer is showing faster speeds than actual so I would conclude that actual gas mileage in reality is less than 11.7.
-
My 2016 speedometer is reading 4 to 8 miles per hour faster than actual at all speeds. Has anyone noticed this on there's, can the speedo be recalibrated through a dealer?

Thanks for the replies! Talked to another dealer today and they stated its normal for the a/c system to operate as described? Appreciate your test results posted when you finally have warmer weather. It's been in the mid to high 80s here for the last four weeks!

. Congratulations on the new wagon! I have also recently purchased one. I tried to get an A/C question answered on this forum last week but either there are very few members or nobody would take the time to check theirs for me...so here goes. When driving with the A/C on either "normal" or "max" mode the air temperature from the dash vents fluctuates from cold apx 41 degrees for 10-15 seconds to warmer air apx 56 degrees for 10-15 seconds, this pattern repeats over and over. This only occurs when the vehicle is being driven...under a load...when stopped at idle the air temperature maintains constant 41-42 degrees with no variance. I'm in Arizona and with months of 110 degree days coming soon I need to know if this is normal operation or not. I have never owned any other vehicle that this was considered normal for the A/C to operate this way. Would you mind checking yours out for me and post your results? I used a hand held lazer thermometer but you can obviously feel the 10-15 degree change in air temperature without it. Thanks in advance!
-
Dealer says all is normal...nothing to see here! The tech only checked it at idle. I used a laser thermometer at the dash outlets to evaluate if it was me and determined at idle yes the air temperature maintains constant 41-44 degrees but when driving the temperature fluctuates between that and 56 degrees back and forth about every 30 seconds or so. Have never experienced that unless it was a newer vehicle under a load and only for a short period. Talked with someone today and they thought that all 2015 and newer vehicles do this to maximize fuel efficiency? Is there someone on this forum with a 2015 or 2016 Cargo with manual a/c controls that could verify if this is normal or not?
-
Thanks for your insight, I'm at the dealer now for them to evaluate. Will post results when diagnosed.
-
No, mine blows ice cold then slightly warmer then ice cold then slightly warmer continuously while on. The temperature change to warmer air is only for app 10-15 seconds then it starts all over again. I don't have the automatic temperature control its just a fan and temperature knob.
-
Just took delivery of a 2016 2500 Cargo after a four and a half month wait. Noticed when the a/c is on normal or max mode the air temperature varies from ice cold to warm continually. Has anyone experienced this and if so what was the issue? Thanks in advance.

The Titan is probably taking priority on the production line and creating NV delays.
-
This would be a "cargo" version, silver in color with Tech Pkg. Initially quoted 8-10 weeks and now currently 18-20 weeks.

Has anyone ordered a 2016, v8, standard roof, cargo NV2500 yet? Lead time is stated at 4-5 months. Pricing at $30,995 with destination charge.
