  1. You are correct that the double-sided tape does stick to the paint. I'm not as concerned about it, though, as I had the same application on an Explorer for 7+ years before removing and finding that it had no effect on the paint. To be sure, I also put some Dr. Beasely's paint sealant where the tape touches the car. I was able to get the brackets hooked in.. it's just that they have some negative tolerances with the metal rim of the door and the weather stripping. It's really not a big deal, I was just expecting a better fit from a Nissan brand product built specifically for this vehicle. FYI, the double-sided tape is strong, but not as strong as it could be.. the front brackets push the deflector out slightly too far and the tape was not initially sticking well at those points. I hope an aftermarket product comes available that, like you said, attaches between the door and weatherstripping-- always a better install and cleaner look.
  2. I have a pair of Nissan brand window deflectors (model 999D3-HX000). They came with 4 small plastic brackets and pin fasteners. Does anyone know how the brackets attach to the vehicle? Many thanks.
