  1. I placed the order late August, so hopefully that helped me some lol. I feel I got a decent price, $39k Otd. It was impossible to check inventory and have dealers fight it out because there were zero, ZERO!, long box rear wheel drive pickups on lots in a 600 dealer radius. I was told that by 3 different dealers. So I placed and order with our local dealer and was happy enough with the end result. Hopefully I have it by early October.

If you are living in Michigan, why would you buy a 4x2 truck? Just curious.

  2. I would think that suspension in 3500 would be beefier. If you are likely to be constantly worried about the payload, I would recommend that you get a 3500. If you are sufficiently under 2500 max payload, you could get away with a 2500.

  3. You think it’s the mount location?

Mounting is pretty solid. It's the flip-down screen that tends to vibrate. When the road is smooth, it's fine. When the road gets rough, that's another story.

  4. I live in an area where lifted trucks are quite common. A local car wash area used to have regular height wash bays. Then a few years ago they installed extra tall bays that even Nissan van can fit. Perhaps you could talk to the owners of car wash place for installing one. That might even make some business sense for them as well.

  5. Maybe Dustin was happy to DIY, maybe he took it to Nissan.  Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't find it easy.  I mark-up the owners manual with notes every time I do this.  The one practical thing I've learned is to do the reset with all four wheels laying on the ground in proper placement, but in a small pile.  It saves the running around with the air hose.  And my 11 YO is another essential tool seated in the driver's seat.

I must be missing something.  This process makes me curse every time.

I agree with you on this. The process could not be made any more complicated, imo. I just took it to Nissan dealership (my local mechanic couldn't reset it). Once Nissan reset it, no issues came up. (in my case, the issue arose when tires were changed out)

I am glad that you found a way to make it work. You are very creative with your 11YO, haha.

  6. I am always amazed at the range of mpg folks are reporting here. We are luckily in the middle range with 14 mpg city and 16-18 highway with the V6 high roof. 10mpg is not acceptable for sure. Do u have a V8?

Roof rack, heavy tires, ... , not surprising his mpg got a hit.

I do believe he has v8.

  7. Welcome to the forum.

The limiting factor on the tire/wheel size is the sliding door. There are several threads discussing this topic in the subform you posted.

I went with American Outlaw Bunker (17x8.5, 10 mm offset) with 245/75/17 DuraTrac tires and couldn't fit anything larger or any more lower offset. Fitting 22 inch wheels involves the same process (watch out off wheel width and offset and overall tire diameter).

  8. I have stock suspension. For Nissan van, the most common limitation is the gap between the sliding door and the tires.

I opted for American Outlaw Bunker (17x8.5, 10 mm offset) and GoodYear DuraTrac 275/75/18. Personally I would not go with any wider wheels or ones with more aggressive offset. You see the gap between the sliding door and the tires?
