  1. The location of the weight in the van makes a big difference. Although you may still under the GVWR (#9100), if the bulk of the weight is over or behind the rear axle, the rear will ride a lot lower. Try moving some the weight forward between the front and rear axles. The weight sticker is on the driver's door jam. On my 2500 High V6, the front axle weight max is #3825 rear is #5875. Hope this helps.
  2. My guess is that the fan and housing are interchangable with another Nissan model, so the spot to put the filter is already there. I would put one in if I worked in dusty conditions like new building sites. Or like vanguuy that has a family member with alergies to airborne particles. Nissan may have left it out just to save money.
  3. Although I expect someone will try to tow, Page 9-16 in the owner's Manual "Do not tow a trailer with your vehicle" If you subtract the curb weight from the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, see driver's door jam label, what's left is about 1500 lbs for all cargo including passengers, so there isn't much left for towing. I would just say no. Tom
  4. Hi Dave, The NV's do not come with a factory installed cabin filter, but there is a place for one located behind the glove box. After removing the glovebox there is a black door about 8 inches long located near the fan housing. Unclip the door and install a filter. The filter is the same one as the Nissan GTR cabin filter. Remove the door and insert the filter and reinstall the glove box. I did mine about 3 months ago. Remember to include the replacement routine into your maintenance schedule at 30K miles. I have a few pictures I took when I did mine let me know if you need them. Tom
  5. Axulsuv, Your dealer sell the hitch and wire kit separately, so you can pick up the wire harness without the hitch.
  6. Hi Guys, The part number for the complete center console is 96910-1PAOA. The only thing missing is the locking cylinder. I think retail on it is about $475.00. FYI stepping over it is possible but not easy. Drop into a dealer and ask to look inside a 2500 or 3500 (they are standard equipment) and try it before you order one.
  7. The console is removable, 6 bolts to take it out, but inside there is a 12V outlet and both a 12V and a 110V AC outlet in the 2500 and 3500 SV model which you'll have to disconnect or relocate if you remove the console. You may want to go to a dealer and look at the base model 1500 (it doesn't have a console) and try the walk through to see if it's worth the time to remove yours.
  8. Hi Glenn, Here is a company the just came out with a full wall liner kit. www.malleyindustries.com/commercial 877-859-8591. I have only seen a flyer not the product, but at lease someone is making it. I was on their site a few days ago and couldn't find a picture, but I know it's available, you may have to call.
  9. If you have or are getting a high roof model, you may also want to look at the products from Ranger Design. Their products are all aluminum (lighter) and they have shelf units that go up to 62 1/2 inches high. You can download a catalog here: http://www.rangerdesigninc.com/html/vehicles.asp I've used them in the past in Sprinters.
  10. AugustKC, The center console is now available from Nissan as a complete unit. In the past you had to order all of the parts and assemble it yourself. If you can't find one used, let me know and I'll find the part number for you.
  11. Eric, The transmission on the NV is maintenance free, however, filler tube is unmarked on the passenger side of the block with a small black cap that is secured with a bolt. The transmission uses Nissan Matic S ATF and other fluids can damage the transmission. Fluid level will be inspected on the scheduled maintenance visits and there is a transmission over heat warning light. Tom
  12. Hi Jim, I'm the commercial van specialist at a Nissan Dealer in Seattle. The OEM is a good way to go the hitch and harness are designed to fit and it would carry the same warranty as the van. I'm having one installed on my demo tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. Tom
