  1. I don't know that these have been out long enough for anyone to report durability issues. On the Nissan Titan forums the only item of the ones you are asking about is ball joint wear. Like the Fords they come from the factory with no grease fittings. A grease gun needle adaptor would be the workaround for that. $1000 sounds about right for a 300K van. I can't imagine getting much more trying to sell it yourself. I wish you well in your decision!
  2. No good news... That is not a programming option. I also tried locking the doors with the driver's window down and reaching in to hit the unlock button. It unlocked the doors. I had hoped it might set off the alarm instead. No such luck.
  3. "Out of the box" thinking... nice!
  4. Wow! 340 miles a workday... that'll make ya saddle sore! Running that many miles it can't be cost-effective to buy new can it?
  5. Kit, your interior work looks very nice! I need help understanding what looks like cabinet doors in the ceiling. Thanks.
  6. The spare and carrier are weight that the rear door was never designed to carry, so over time the door will sag. If the carrier is designed to swing totally out in line with the door, then the effect is multiplied. My wife can hold our 20 lb Westie for awhile comfortably. She cannot do so for long with her arms outstretched. I'm sorry, I just don't see how that is a good solution for you. Since you won't be strapping dogs to the roof :speedie: , perhaps a roof rack to mount the spare?
  7. I'm having trouble picturing how a swing-out will work on a sliding door. So, am I understanding correctly that the purpose of the generator is for rear air conditioning? Here is a video showing a rear unit that operates off the factory system.
  8. The roof bows are not designed to carry much weight. I think the installer is taking the easy way out using the spare tire location. They need to be more creative in finding an alternate location for mounting the generator.
  9. Nicely done overall review. You mentioned tire pressure. Are you using something other than tne Nissan recommendations? Also curious as to how your tires are wearing after 38,000 miles. Thanks!
  10. Welcome to the Forum! I haven't received mine yet to be able to examine the console in detail, but I suspect that it is a high dollar part! On the other hand, I can imagine that some will be removed to utilize doors in partitions, so there may be an opportunity to pick one up much cheaper later on if you bide your time. If you don't get any takers on your shelving and partition, then an ad on Craigslist will probably do the trick. I chuckled at your remark of getting lots of questions. I am one of those guys! I have waved down 3 different ones to ask them about theirs.
  11. Did they give you a printout of the alignment measurements? If I was to guess I bet your sawtooth wear is on the outside edges since the spec for these vehicles calls for a lot of toe-in (2.5 times of the Titans for some reason). And the tolerance to be "in specs" is pretty wide. If you can't get the dealer to readjust it to the portion of the tolerance of less toe-in based on the obvious tire wear, then I would follow Blaine's advice of having another alignment shop adjust it for less toe-in along with rotating the tires so that you can keep an eye on them to confirm the problem is resolved. Running the sawtooth tires on the back will also tend to smooth out the wear pattern that has started.
  12. I hear you. In fact I thought you brought up such an important point that I stopped by my Nissan dealer today to ask the Lead Tech to check with Nissan to see if there are any programming options.
  13. What a great question! I would think the lock control commands could be reprogrammed by the dealer, but finding a tech who would do the research necessary might be a whole other problem. I have known guys to wire a hidden toggle switch into the ignition circuit, so I'm guessing you could do the same with the door lock circuit. Now to remember to flip the toggle each time...... A Security Hasp on those doors would be another option, but with the 18V cordless reciprocating saws they have these days if somebody wants in bad enough they will get in.
  14. I went with Adrian because I have shelving and cabinets of theirs that are 17 years old and still in good shape. I'm not sure the current products are quite as durable, but they are the standard for this kind of stuff. Weather Guard also has a great product. They paint their shelving white in attempt to keep the inside of the van from being so dark. The downside of white is that it shows everything. American Van is another brand, but I don't have experience with their items. Adrian has some weaknesses in their product line. If you have a high roof model, the tallest shelving for NV is 50" (they do list 56" shelving for Sprinters). American Van has some that is 65" high. Weather Guard has 62". I use more cabinets and drawers, so this wasn't a big deal to me. Adrian has a product called Stow-All floor drawers. They have different widths, but they all use a single drawer. Weather Guard has drawer units called an Itemizer. Different widths, but individual drawers. They also offer both Lateral (side-by-side) and Stacked configurations. They are very expensive and now that I have used them I would hate to go without. Mine were hard used when I got them and are still capable of holding up under heavy use. My current drawers are Lateral, but I went with Stacked so I will still be able to stand in my high roof. My local upfitter received all of my stuff, but I became concerned about how soft and thin the factory floor mat is. So now an order has ben placed for some hard flooring which puts the cabinet install on hold. Hope to post pics in a few weeks when it is complete. Hope this helps!
