  1. Over my Christmas vacation: Added Step barsCovered the whole floor with diamond tread pattern rubber flooring. Went over top of the carpet.Upgraded all speakers and added a amplifierAdded brake light bar That was about 2 full days worth of work... :)
  2. On the SL model: -upgrade the plastic door armrests and console to a nicer feel. Hard plastic is just not comfortable. -Running boards should be standard on this model -Driver controllable rear lights -True premium wheels. The chrome wheels are still a steel wheel with some soft of permanent chrome hub-cap -Optional Power sliding door -4 rear speakers rather than 2 On all models -Auto headlights -optional running boards -the sliding console top slides too easily -Mirror on both visors -7' is a hard stop for many home and parking garages. It would be great if there was a lowered suspension option or it was something like 6'10" standard. I highly doubt anything like this would be done but it is so close....
  3. Sounds great. There are many here that will look forward to your updates.
  4. I shoot for every 3-4k miles and use Mobil 1 Synthetic with a quality filter. If I miss it for a bit and go a little longer to 5k, not really a big deal. I also use a Red Line fuel system cleaner at every old change. I buy a case of it at a time and it is not as expensive. https://www.amazon.com/Red-Line-Complete-System-Cleaner/dp/B000CPI5Z0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1482058433&sr=8-1&keywords=red+line+fuel+system+cleaner
  5. I really wanted chrome since the rest of the vehicle is accented in chrome. I am sure black would look ok though.
  6. ASD Dad Yes, I am actually considering just returning and not replacing them especially since after seeing them I wonder how well they will hold up and what they will look like in a few years. I know my family will appreciate the step but at over $700, I am having second thoughts. I am going to think about it a bit over the next few days.
  7. I ordered my Luverne® 575098 - MegaStep™ Polished Running Boards, Luverne® 571161 - MegaStep™ and O-MegaStep™ Boards Mounting Brackets from CarID. They had the best price. Unfortunately, they were dropped off without a signature and were damaged. UPS is supposed to come and get them and I will get a new set. To be honest, I am not really impressed with these especially for how much $ they are. We are just in a supply and demand issue though and these look the best. I have much nicer ones on my F150 and I paid about $250. These were over $700 shipped. So now I get to wait to return them and get new ones. Probably will take 1-2 weeks. :(
  8. I am sure you will like the NV. We just got our last weekend. There was a post about a price increase and change in engine but nothing else stated for 2017. If you have not ordered it yet, it might be worth it to drive a little ways to get a 2016. The additional MPG savings is far less than the price increase.
  9. I don't think you are going to see any 2017's in the dealers until Feb/March, so there is no push for the dealers to get rid of the 2016's. In addition, the supply is low on these and therefore, there are not big deals on them. You probably will not find any one dealer that has more than a few SLs. That makes color choice harder as they won't have alot of choices. Add the fact that you want a SL and the supply will be even more limited. The SV is more available. Nissan is only giving $500 cash back. For me in the end, it was just about getting the best deal that I could that was fair for both without having to visit multiple dealers. They probably still made a little $ on me and they moved a vehicle. I am a fair person, just like I don't want to be worked over, I don't want to work them over too much. That being said, I did have the attention of the owner and I got more for my trade, was able to use my credit union (many won't discount as much if you don't use Nissan financing) and got them well below invoice and to remove their $1000 Dealer Care that I did not care about. :) They still gave it to me to though. I arrived when the doors opened on Saturday and did all of the negotiations with the Manager and the owner. They all were a little enthralled with my 4 row Excursion that I traded and that I had 7 kids. They all were very nice and respectful. With all of this, I had a verbal promise from another dealer that he would beat any offer of another dealer. After 3 hours of working the deal, I was not confident that that dealer would be able to beat it enough to spend the rest of the day working on another deal that may or may not have been better and by how much? I decided to go for it. They gassed it up and detailed it and even went with me to the bank to get the check for the downpayment. That sales person was with me for 4 solid hours.
  10. Here is a picture, not like yall have not seen these before, here it is anyway. In the last couple of years, I think we have inched up to about 20k miles a year. The amount of driving around town as increased alot since our older kids are involved in more activities around town. My other vehicle is a F150 that I love but it is a up for sale and will be replaced with a used Prius and then will become our evening and weekend town vehicle. Most of our driving now is not with the whole family but 1-4 kids depending on what the activity is.
  11. Well, after weeks of deliberation, research..... We purchased a Silver 2016 NV Passenger SL yesterday. It is quite the upgrade in many ways over our '01 Limited Excursion which we have loved for the last 6 years and honestly still loved. I had a bit of emotion as I getting the last few items out and handing over the keys. Almost a 100k of family miles in that truck. This will be a family hauler for our family of 9. The driving experience is actually similar to the Excursion, just newer, tighter, and quieter. My wife has named it "The Mothership" A few immediately accessories will need to be rear floor mats & step bars.
  12. Even if I could wait until Feb 2017, to me it surely is not worth it. MPG savings of 8% is just a incremental improvement for Nissan on a model lineup strategy to keep increasing overall, nothing that is tangible for us. Of course, it is nice that they added more horsepower but I don't recall anyone complaining about power. I would have preferred that they figure out a way to improve MPG by 20% and keep the HP where they are. The only thing that concerns me is that if the price is going up, anyone that was is in the market will be looking to get one in 2016 and the supply could start to get thinner. Or maybe not, and they will discount the 2016's to get rid of them if they are still in inventory come Feb. Now if they offered a passenger version that was not over 7', I would figure out a way to wait.
  13. aabel Do you mind saying how much dabbing up you needed. I am very handy but don't have a welder or machine shop to make something up. I do like yours better than others that I have seen so far. Not many options.
  14. I hope that this can be taken as some constructive suggestions. With all of the Ads and the large site banner at the top, might I suggest a few things. I have to scroll on a 22" monitor just to see any real content. 1. Reduce the size of the site banner. This is the one with the black high top and silver cargo. 2. Get rid of the Google Custom search or move it above the header on the left or make it and the search just above it the same. 3. I understand the need for the advertising but 3 layers all in the same place is alot. I scroll right past and honestly get annoyed a bit that they are so in my face. Maybe look at moving them around.
