  1. Not familiar with the Here app. What does it do?
  2. I pre-download topographic maps to my iPad so I don't need a cell signal to know where I am. Actually as a navigational aid, it doesn't get much better than an iPad. I have marine charts I use on my boat, topos I use while camping or without cell signal, and navigation apps like Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Waze. With a little pre-planning, the iPad is a fantastic tool.
  3. Welcome! I lived in Indiana for 5 years. Great report on the van. I totally agree about a 4 seat 3rd row and not having enough rail covers. We have our seats in the same configuration you do.
  4. It amazes me that car companies want to charge for a product that is inferior to free apps like Waze, Apple and Google maps. They should just allow the use of these apps through bluetooth connection from a smart phone. I'd love to be able to run one of those apps on my touchscreen in the dash. I'd sing Nissan's praises instead of criticizing their awful system. I know one thing is sure, I will never pay to upgrade the nav system. Ordering an iPad mount today!
  5. Our salesman was the commercial sales rep.
  6. Yeah, I'm trying to figure out how to mount my iPad so I can run Google maps. I also use the Waze app from time to time.
  7. Hey all, I would like to get an iPad mount. I have one in my F-250 and love being able to have weather radar, navigation and trip logs at my fingertips, let alone email (when I'm stopped). I don't want to get a permanent mount, but rather either a window mount or a cup holder mount. Does anyone have one they would recommend? Thanks!
  8. This is my first car with in-dash navigation. I have always either used a dash mount Garmin unit, my phone or iPad for navigation. I have always been happy with these devices except for the fact that you have to mount them somehow to make them easily viewable. I was excited to not have to worry about that with the NV, but after using the nav system, I am disappointed. It did not seem to know the best routes around Tampa, especially near our toll-way that has lanes that reverse depending on time of day. it regularly didn't know exit numbers which is extremely unhelpful. Now I'm contemplating going back to systems I know and trust for my road trip in June. I have no confidence this system will choose the best route to get where I want to go.
  9. I have had to change an alternator twice in my F-250, oddly both times in Tennessee. It's right up on top which makes it take less than 30 minutes. Sadly it doesn't look as easy on the NV. But with 99,233 miles left on my warranty, I don't plan to change an alternator for a long time.
  10. Congrats! Can't wait to hear about that 7 speed transmission!

    Tow Mode

Cool, thanks. On my first outing with the boat I didn't feel like I needed tow mode so I didn't use it. We don't have any hills where I live and my boat only weighs about 4500 lbs with gear. It did like to hold 3rd gear when getting up to speed but I expected that. I was very happy with how it towed. Just wish it got the same towing MPG as my diesel!
  12. That helps a lot. I tow an enclosed trailer with my F-250 that weighs about 7,000 lbs loaded. I haven't pulled it with the van yet and don't plan to, but I always wonder about "what if" scenarios.
