  1. Looks neat, passes for the real thing on first glance! I'm curious, did you need to create a template first?
  2. Might want to look into the ecm grounding. Make sure the grounds are making good contact and install star washers if necessary. And ecm communication problem could be related to poor grounding. Grounding was a problem on the earlier model years of the NV. I don't know if there was a TSB for this, but the Nissan USA was aware of it.
  3. One quick option is Plasti Dip to black out the chrome! I haven't tried it but it is reversible since the coating will peel off.
  4. Yes, I installed one and the NV is listed in their database now. The filter i purchased came in 2 pieces.
  5. Any tire shop should be able to reset it for you. I had this done at an independent tire store.
  6. A while back I called Nissan USA with the same quaestion. I needed warranty work done and it turns out they gave approval to use Nissan dealer that is closer to my home. ... BUT the Nissan dealer refused to take the NV in for any reason, not even an oil change. When I talked to the Service manager he told me it was due to insurance reasons. The dealer didn't think it was worth the higher insurance rates required for servicing these vehicles.
  7. I suspect the 12 passenger springs are sized to carry 12 adults, which could be 2000 lbs or more. For example a hotel-airport shuttle. 6 kids probably would likely be 500 lbs or much less. So the harsh ride is likely an engineering requirement. The Ford Econoline and GM 8 passenger vans come with the 1500 half ton suspension for the same reason. In any case it would be nice to have a solution for a softer ride.
  8. 4 Brigdestone Blizzak winter tires. Good traction in snow and ice. Previously have used Firestone Winterforce which have good grip also, but more road noise at highway speeds.
  9. Has anyone attempted a mod to add an interior lighting toggle switch to the front dash area? Maybe getting the schematic / wiring diagram would help.
  10. One design flaw is lack of the ability to override the interior light settings from the drivers seat. For example, A) turn on lights similar to the door open switch and B) turn off all lights that are manually switched on by passengers (kids) to improve visibility when needed.
  11. Is there a way to check the OBD II code without use of a scan tool?
