  1. Anyone else having difficulty with the sliding door on the NV? I have a 2012 3500 Passenger that has been into the dealer twice for noise. It's going back a third time. Each time it has been serviced, the problem is cured for some amount of time afterward. The first time I had it serviced, it sounded like something was literally dangling inside the door (clunk clunk clunk). The second time around, I think the dealer lubricated the wheels that the door rides on and that seemed to do the trick. Now the door is rattling again on bumpy roads and it squeaks when the weather is damp (sounds as if the door is not tight against the weather stripping). The vehicle has less than 10,000 miles on it. Curious to know if anyone else is having similar issues? What's the solution? Thanks!
  2. Overall, the van has been great. Still happy with my purchase. Handles great. Huge improvement in turning radius versus my Ford and GMC vans! We have used it on one camping trip thus far. It towed great. Improved turning radius made a big difference when back into a campsite. My travel trailer probably weights 7,000lbs loaded. Even with 10 people in the car, it towed great. Plenty of power. Hills were more manageable. Noticeable improvement over my GMC. I think I averaged about 8.4 mpg on the hwy with the 5.6L V8. This too is an improvement over my GMC (I averaged about 7.4 mpg while towing). When not towing, I have seen better than 17mpg on the hwy. Mpg on any full-size van is a drag. Unless you need it tow a big trailer, you might want to downgrade to the 4.0L.. Others have said that Nissan claims mileage will improve after 3,000 miles -- We'll see. I have approximately 1,600 miles on it and have not had any major issues. From time to time, I think I hear a dull thump somewhere near or in the sliding door. The door seems tight. (On that note, overall construction seems really tight.) However, I have not been able to easily replicate the noise or isolate it for that matter. I'll have to ride back there and see if I still hear it. I have noticed that the front bumper is just a tad crooked as others have reported . . . the bumper guy at the factory must have a crooked level. Although I have read this is an easy fix, I have not had time to check it out. As far as price, my dealer advertised it at invoice. Through my employer, I qualified for VPP pricing. The interior fit-up, leather seats, etc. is terrific. Nissan did a great job on the fit and finish in my opinion. As far as the little things go . . . It did not come with floormats . . . really! There is no master shut-off for the cabin lights from the driver's seat (helpful when have little ones in the seat.). I'll probably remvoe the center console to make it easier to move around inside. The users guide says it comes out easily by removing 6 bolts and unplugging the power cord underneath. You will want a back-up camera wether you get it in the technology package or aftermarket. The rear view mirror is useless with the headrests on the rear seats. We opted for an after-market JVC system with rear camera and it is terrific. Some illumination on the front seat cupholders would be nice. That's all for now. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll be back . . .
  3. Just purchased a new NV3500 HD SL Passenger, standard roof. Came with tow package -- will be using it to tow my travel trailer. Only had the vehicle a couple of days now. So far, so good. Looking forward to sharing information with other owners . . . .
