  1. Hmm very interesting, thank you for sharing that. I guess that makes me feel less alone. I emailed the Nissan dealership I ordered some interior panels and a fog light switch from 2 weeks ago (emailed them 2 days ago), and so far no response.
  2. I also have a 2019 NV3500 (and previously a 2013 2500 V6). I too have experienced very low parts availability... and you may not notice it until you actually execute an order and it ends up stalling, than you call and some confused guy on the phone is like, "hmm it says here it's on backorder". I can't explain all the little signs that give me the vibe that we should be ordering essentials, wear/tear items, spare emergency parts etc. If something is bugging you about your rig, get the parts asap, cause the situation isn't going to get better. I love this one (put in 4x4) as a family fun and emergency rig so it's not going anywhere until I can't get it to run anymore.
  3. Ahhh now that is interesting (calibrated trans shifting timing). That was my deeper wonder... if these signals cause my rig to bog down a little in power, more so than the expected weight increase from big tires. I'll have to google Hypertech speedo calibrator... thanks!
  4. Dude if you're not going to say anything then just don't say anything. Yes I looked before posting. Most of the links don't work, and it's no surprise because it's been years. God forbid someone write a new post in 2024 with a slight different angle. Do people get snooty here when they get two black dogs under their digital name?
  5. Before coming here my inclination was to look for an entire new headlight housing/harness to receive higher-performing bulb types, unleashing us from H13 (either low beam OR high beams that do not penetrate the darkness of the night sufficiently to drive a normal speed at night without having to cross your fingers nothing jumps in front of you. But I have not found a full replacement (under 2k). I did see one kit which seemed to be a whole housing replacement, but I didn't click on it when I saw the price. I'm not cheap, I'm just not spending $2k to see 35 more feet, 1% of the time I drive.... doesn't pass the wife test. Now that it's been years... do you know what you would have done differently to achieve the throw we're all looking for?
  6. Ahhh thank you so much! Gosh darn computers making my odo dumb... but at least maybe it's helping my lady lie about her wear, over time. That was an amazing and detailed explaination, and a big part of me can now rest knowing that I'm not the only one "lying" about my vehicle mileage
  7. Did you mean to include a link to a different thread? You're the first person to reply so there's no scrolling to be had here.
  8. Evening ladies. I imagine I'm not the only one to wonder this, and I'm hoping there is some easy fix like a TPMS sensor adjustment... but for the speedo/odo. I swear my MPG increased by roughly 1.5 mpg after I put on larger tires on my new (to me....only 5k miles) 2019 NV3500 SV V8 Hightop. ... but that shouldn't happen... doesn't make sense, so it got me wondering if the Nissan NV judges speed by assuming you're using stock tires, counting one tire rotation as a set distance (odometer), then multiplying the number of rotations/time to get speed. If that's the case it would explain why I think I'm getting more MPG (because the tires now have a wider diameter, causing more distance to be traveled per single rotation. This would also explain why, when I told my brother to set his cruise control to 60 in his Honda CRV and matched his speed with my van, my speedo said I was going about 64 mph. It seemed that the faster we went, the larger the discrepancy was (When brother went 80, I was going "86"). So that's my theory... that the NV vans don't (accurately) know how fast we're going, or how far we're going, unless we keep stock sized tires. Am I wrong? If I'm right... we're all speeding in front of cops unknowingly... and we're all putting more miles on our odometers than the meter shows. This is good for re-sale, but I'm sure a man is curious how many miles he's REALLY driven the rig, especially if you're getting up there in miles and start to get proud... but the pride is erroded by this post from a guy saying that if you got bigger tires then you're putting more miles on your rig than you know. I could totally be wrong and someone will chime in and school me about how I don't know basic stuff... but I welcome it because maybe I can correct it (the speedo/odo).... or at least someone can talk some sense into me? (put on KO3s at 285/70/17 I believe.... Method wheels but same 17 as stock). Also lifted vehicle 3" and put side steps on) Do all vehicles figure speed the same way?.. is that same way the way I described or am I wrong and I'm just imagining "better" gas mileage improvements after getting bigger tires (and 4x4 conversion, and side steps at the same time). Thanks for your thoughts and insults.
  9. Thurman, I just had my van converted to 4x4 by Advanced 4x4 in Salt Lake City, and they must have adjusted it because I'm running about 55 psi on my front wheels no warning light. I put on285 KO3s on new 17" wheels. However in my old (2013) van which I still have not sold (I haven't listed yet), which also got a wheel/tire upgrade, the TPMS was never adjusted (Big O Tires), so I pretty much drove with the warning light on for years. I do remember seeing a video years ago when I cared about it, and in it a guy described a sequence of events that must be conducted in a particular order, such as deflating your tires to 20% or something, in a specific order, than re-filling them in a certain order. He was happy with his success but I tried it years ago to no avail... but I could have done it wrong...ly. He was some white guy and his wife might have been in the video for a short period... of that helps.
  10. Howdy all. I want to improve my visibility. I don't like that the same bulb is used for low and high beams. When I throw my brights on, I want the low beams to work at the same time, not one or the other (for increased light). Is that possible/legal? I assume so... I assume other vehicles separate high and low beams. But upon looking for aftermarket headlights, all I see is misleading links, ebay stuff (I'd avoid unless someone spoke up for a product there), and stuff that's like $2k. Has anyone unhappy merely choosing an H13 LED bulb been able to find a whole housing upgrade which accommodates separate high beams and low beams, or at least fits something more versatile than the H13 bulb in terms of quality LED options? The ever-changing brands on Amazon make me very weary... looking for something reputable but beggars can't be choosers at this point. Thanks!
  11. I assume the OP and most ppl in here aren't 17 years old, don't ride the brakes down the hill, take overdrive off, and go manual when it's steep. Clearly with so many ppl complaining about the same thing, it's an issue with the rigs and not everyone being idiots... but thanks for contributing...?
  12. Same issue with my 2013 2500 cargo high roof. Well first it shook while braking, especially down hill. Shop said the rotors in front were warped so I bought new ones OE and that seemed to fix the problem.... for a while. Well it Did fix the brake shake, but like the rest of you guys, I started noticing wheel shake not while braking, but while accelerating or decelerating around the 55 mph range (give or take 5). I do have aftermarket 17" wheels which are a little wider than stock, wrapped with 285/75r BF Goodrich KO2s fyi. Is this happening to people with stock wheels/tire sizes/weights too? I've been wondering if these axles (which NOBODY makes lockers for?!) are just too weak, or the calipers sticky... shoot I dunno your guess is as good as mine but clearly there is an issue. Frankly the more I think of it the more I'm tired of almost zero aftermarket locker (which the van sorely needs IMO)... and it seems to come down to this axle/diff. Is it not the same as the Titan or Titan XD? If so, why the heck are there no lockers available? Even Advanced 4x4 in Salt Lake City to converts the van to 4x4 high and low range says they won't put a locker on it because... they didn't fully explain but I got he impression that the whole diff houseing and maybe the axle may need to be replaced and at that point there wouldn't be enough people to sell it to cause it would be too expensive. Anyone know more about this?
  13. Anyone have any updates on this or options other than Quigley or Advanced 4x4? What about that Chris guy at U-Bolt? My NV also gets stuck SO easily on simple stuff like wet grass or mud... not even much incline, like just going in and out of a duck hunting club, getting stuck feeling like an idiot cause I can't even turn around without getting stuck in a little wild grass. So I hope you ended up getting 4x4 and hopefully you can share what you learned about the options and why you chose what you did? Or did hubby convince you that the cargo van has good traction as is? Oh and PS my 32" (no lift) KO2s did help, but the limited slip diff is... well it's one for a cargo van in town, but when you actually need the system to transfer torque in a traction-needed situation, it's useless.
  14. In 2016 I bought a Salvaged 2013 NV2500HD High Roof. A week or two into ownership, while carrying a heavy load of steal and approaching a red light in town, my brakes suddenly fully went out. I had what felt like about 5% of power to the brakes. Luckily I didn't hit anyone as I rolled through the red light while I hit the emergency brake which slowly brought me to a stop. If that happened on the free way, someone would have died. I had essentially no brakes. Anyway... Brought it to Nissan dealer and it was about $1700 repair for... what was it... master silinoid?...it was the "brain" to the ABS system. I'm sorry my termonology isn't correct because that's not my forte but it was a major component of the ABS system. That was in 2016... I still own the van and have driven it all over half the country including 11k elevation steep declines etc. No problems since then... but I'm sharing because it sounds maybe related to what you're talking about.
  15. No but I once saw it on pornhub... my condolences and best wishes for a speedy recover
  16. These are of course new rims but they are the stock 17". They are deeper though. I forget the offset but the tires are BF Goodrich All-terrain's from BigOTires in Oakland CA. They were about $250 per tire and the rims were approximately $215 each. The tires rub the sliding door but not enough to really bug me.

285/70/17. New rims but they're the stock 17"ers. With the 285/70/17 there is JUST enough space to get the sliding door open (rubs just a little but not too bad). No lift or suspension alterations; all stock.
  18. Yes I did notice the power gain. We're not talking about a lot of power gain here, but it was noticable, both in the low end "off the line", and when flooring it. The difference is small, but noticeable. That, in addition to the cool new sound made it all worth it :-)
  19. I replaced my stock tires (245/70/17) with much larger tires (285/70/17... BF All-Terrains). I'd like to get accurate gas mileage at the pump, and it seems I can no longer get the correct speed/gas mileage due to having significantly larger tires. My question is, is there something I can do in order to correct for the speedometer, so that I can 1) see the correct speed, and 2) correctly calculate my gas mileage? I'm not a "car guy" per say, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks! 2013 Nissan NV 2500 HD V6 high roof. ps, yes the 285 tires work. There is a little bit of rubbing on the sliding door, but not enough to annoy me. I also replaced the wheels themselves at the same time, but kept them at the same 17" wheels so i can still have lots of soft side wall for a smooth ride and more grip when off road for the lack of 4x4. I forgot what the offset on the wheels was...
  20. On my 2013 Nissan NV 2500 HD V6, I put on a set of BF Goodrich All-Terrains, size 285/70/17. I replaced the wheels at the same time, but I kept them at 17" (same size as stock wheels). With these tires on, I do get a little rub when opening the sliding side door, however, it's not enough to annoy me. I can still easily get the door open... barely rubs...hardly notice it. Roughly 3" difference in overall wheel diameter, and roughly 1.5" raise at the axle. I definitely feel the difference with a smoother ride due to increased tire weight and tred. I have the tires filled to only 60 psi because I want a smoother ride. A rough ride is one of my biggest gripes with my NV. This is my personal vehicle and I wanted much more grip when going hunting/camping... not to mention the looks. Totally changes the look of the vehicle if it's your personal ride and it matters.
  21. 2013 NV 2500 HD V6 with high roof: My AC also seems to fluctuate as you describe... it's annoying. It's decently cold for a spell, then it's not decently cold for a spell... over and over. I also noticed that the passenger size vents seem to push out colder air than my driver's side...also annoying. I feel like my AC is barely adequite to make me comfortable on hot California days... which aren't as hot at places like Arizona etc. I bought the van only 7 months ago and I have not gotten bugged enough to take it in to see if there is anything wrong with it yet... but it's annoying and IF there is nothing wrong with it, it just seems like a lame AC.
  22. I'm doing it every 5k as I feel it's not too much, not too little, and convenient to get the tires rotated at the same time since I replaced my stock NV 2500 wheels/tires with BF Goodrich All Terrains (285/70/17)... I don't want to make separate trips for oil changes and tire rotations, and I haven't gotten into changing my own oil so...
