  1. Thanks Hawks259! I thought it was the door too but went and wiggled the middle row small seat and found that was the culprit. I pulled the release strap and slammed it down hard. That seemed to fix it for a while but it comes back. A little silicone seems to fix it longer. I showed a friend who's had one since 2013 that thought it was the door too. He was so surprised because he'd taken it to so many Nissan service stations and they couldn't fix it.
  2. Man do I miss the power sliding door thing on my minivan. When I drop my kids off they never shut the door right and I have to park this beast, walk all the way around and manually shut the door. Ugh! Now, I know that it would get super pricey to fully automate that sliding door, with so many safety issues having to come into play, so I'm thinking of something much simpler. What about some kind of actuator that would release the door from the open position? Getting my kids to successfully close the door has been an issue. Either they keep trying over and over or Hulk SMASH!! So if there was some kind of actuator I could easily trigger from the driver's seat that could release the door from the open position then I could use the brake to quickly close the door. Problem solved! Any ideas on how to do that?
  3. Show some places you've hidden a sub and amp. What do you like and don't like about it. Is there anything you'd improve about it? I really like the do-it-yourself custom stuff but if there are some pre fabbed stuff that works well let me know.
  4. This is my first time using sound deadening to a car but I have to say I am VERY pleased. I bought a cheap box off amazon that had about 50 sq/ft and focused on the big flat door panels behind the factory speakers that I replaced out. I could probably use another 3 or 4 boxes in order to do the rest of the vehicle but was wondering if it would make a big difference. Highway road noise is noticeably quieter and the Kicker speakers I got from Walmart sound pretty good although nowhere near the base I thought I'd get with better speakers. Would sound deadening around the frame the speakers attach to make much more of a difference? I know a sub would really help but that will be another thread.
  5. I thought it was my door too but as it turned out the squeaking was from one of the seats. I just unhooked it and tilted the seat forward and then slammed it back down into the floor hooks and it stopped squeaking.
  6. Just swapped out the door speakers using this thread. I liked the idea of cutting out the old speaker and using that bracket. The aftermarket 6 1/2 speakers fit great. I added some sound deadening material to the door and it sounded much better. The rear 6 x 9 speakers were pretty easy to swap out although I did have to drill new holes for the bolts. The rear panels were easy enough to take out by just starting from the runner along the back door first and then pull the paneling by hand piece by piece towards the front after removing the seats. I bought 56 soft off material and could probably have used another box just to do the sides front to back. Possibly 4 total of one I got the interior completely and deaden the whole thing. As is it sounds much better driving down the road.
