  1. Thanks a lot for the clarification. I probably did not take one tire up to 95 or 100 psi. I will try it again, but ironically, I just got the "time to rotate" indicator so its time to move them back and I will obviously lose the yellow light! I will try this first though. I want to make it work. thanks again.
  2. If you can program according to the book then your firmware may be more updated then ours. Mine is from 2012. Maybe they can update mine? Dunno.
  3. Well..... I look at it this way..... now...... every other year or so the TPMS light will go off when I rotate the tires back to their original locations. Wonder how long the yellow warning light will last till it burns out?
  4. There are aftermarket TPMS readers that can be purchased.... they work on most cars.... Mcs.... etc. They're expensive.... Over a $1000.
  5. Wow. Sure what like to know what you did.... accidently. Does that mean the yellow tire light is off? I can't believe Nissan can't help us with this? Correct the owners manual!
  6. Yes! Lets get this moving. It states in the manual that it can be done, but very vague.... I called Nissan Commercial Support and a young girl answered. She was very polite but clueless at to anything I was talking about. When I asked to speak to an engineer or techy person, she told me there was no one else that could help. If Nissan wants to seriously fet into the commercial van business they have to understand that most of us change our own oil.... belts .... hoses.... etc. We certainly would want to be able to rotate tires wo a trip to a dealer! I do not have time (hellooooo "commercial van") to sit in a dealership waiting for a plug to be connected. .. then billed $100 or more to reset an idiot light! Even if it was FREE.... I dont wanna visit the dealer. Its in the owner's manual that it can be done. CLARIFY IT... tell us what mistakes there were in the print.... or provide a free firmware upgrade that does fix it. Is there anyone on this site that has a Nissan contact? Is the moderator capable of contacting Nissan?
  7. True enough but my point is we shouldn't have to pay to have it done. My other vehicles reset perfectly via a few button presses, just as this 2012 "should". I do all my own maintenance and oil changes and rotating tires shiuld NOT require special equipment to perform. I still believe that there IS a procedure but the book is just wrong in telling you the steps to perform it properly.
  8. Well..... once you drive it, the tire warn light comes back. But like I said the values are correct.
  9. Btw.... I did notice that while the MIL light is on, the pressure values displayed are correct, just reversed front to rear on each side. I also just tried resetting the code with my ancient OBD2 reader and it did get rid of the MIL light, resetting it, but cant test drive it today to see if it stays off or not. If it does.... I can live with the reversed tire locations.... we'll see, but im guessing it will come right back on afyer driving it. Anyway, just trying for a work around. Ill post back.
  10. Yeah.... if you wanna get dizzy.... read page 8-39. Even if it DID WORK..... wait 30 minutes w key on? My dealer is hour away as well. Cant believe no one else is complaining. Just another way for dealer to make money, but on a van designed as commercial? Time is money. (Sorry for starting 2 posts.)
  11. 2012 NV 2500..... decided to rotate tires, but TPMS reset, per owners manual doesnt work. Called nissan, they told me dealer has to do it. I do all my own work and most other cars ive had, TPMS RESET WORKS! If u follow the manual, its crazy! Forces you to go through this wild gyration of steps that dont work. Im thinking there's a misprint or step or translation issue from Japanese to English? Either way, everyone ive spoke to says dealer has to do it. I believe there's a way to do this without me paying, waiting, driving to dealer? Anyone got the manuals version to work? I dont have time nor patience for dealer. Plus..... why should I have to pay for a routine reset? Crazy! Any help appreciated. I am an electronics tech by trade.... seems like book is wrong? Or upgraded ECM fix? (Never been back to dealer for any updates)

  13. HI TJS6. What mods were nec for the banks exhaust? I want to do this. How much was it? Any update on the intake? Rick
  14. Ichance........LOL. But funnier is the fact that I "GET" that! We must be the same age! I thought that was hilarious, but "IF" there were younger members on this forum..... they'd be waiting for when you do it!. LOL
  15. You guys that are missing the MPG display? I would disconnect the negative battery terminal for 30 seconds or so to reset it. I have found this to work in the past on another Nissan product.... hope that works. FUEL mileage? Awful for the way I drive and the conditions: 5.6, low roof, tires inflated properly, synthetic oil, broken in (18k miles), about #1,000 or less of cargo, easy on take-offs, mostly highway (64mph), waxed :)........ I get about 17 indicated (which is happy), if I calculate it, then I get about 15-15.5 MPG. Just for comparison: I owned an 2001 E250, 5.4 equipped similarly that initially got 17 MPG Calculated! When I sold it (180k, 12 years old), it got 15 MPG!!! this is for a van that was built in 2001 and are you telling me that NISSAN couldn't do better than this?????? The effing Nissan weighs almost #1,000 pounds less EMPTY! I am extremely unhappy with the fuel economy.... Yeah... I know its 2' longer and has a taller, square profile, but technology is there! What gives? Other than the fuel economy, and the "ugliness", I just love the ride, features, interior, etc. ( In my opinion, the looks department would be better if they had rounded off the "A" pillars a bit to smooth out the transition to the "box".) I too would be interested in any improvements in economy from add-ons, take-offs. I did replace the stock filter with a K & N element. Problem is.... the aftermarket industry probably NOT invest any monies in options, unless the pathfinder or pickup mods will work for us. Oh well...... I really do love the van. Hope someone (HELLO NISSAN) can figure a way to increase the fuel economy with a simple change?
  16. thanks. another subject: FREE SIRIUS/XM till the 3rd of December!!
  17. Hi axulsuv, im a bit late checking back but can you send me info u sent wheelchair access? tx rick
  18. Yes! If it draws 7.5 amps...for sure. See if it has a watt rating. It's easier to calculate that way..... its probably about 800-900 watts, so figure your inverter for 1200 or so, but you also need to know what the surge is when the compressor kicks on. You may have to go with a bigger inverter thatn that for this type of inductive load. You should also plan on another battery if you need it to run with the van stopped, engine off.
  19. I've got the V8 with low roof and about 600#'s of stuff. I'm getting 16 and that's 70% highway. I agree with the comment about the MPG computer....its happy. I'm getting about 1 mile or so less MPG than it says by calculating the old way. I am also easy on the pedal, so I'm not happy with the fuel MPG either. . I had an E250 V8 for 12 years and that got me 16 highway.... same type of driving..... but! I really like this van very much. HAs anyone tried a chip? I've never used one of those things on any of my vehicles.... do they work? or hype?
  20. Nissan commercial called me back today...only one day... very good. They told me to purchase the updat from Navitech and they will re-imburse me. Sounded fair to me, so that's what I'll do. Nissan Commercial btw, is very easy and pleasant to speak to. I didn't hold too llong and the two ladies I spoke with were helpful. I never got that from Ford.
  21. Axulsuv....I would LOVE to have the schematic for the audio system that you have if it includes the Navi unit. I need 50 posts before the site will let me PM you?
  22. Well....I'm working on this now. There is NO RCA output on the Nav/XMFM/CD player in my truck. The radio (I've had it out) is made by Bosch and audibly is terrible. I purchased the Metra cable connector that allowed me to connect in to the speakers and ign, batt, etc. but there is another connector for the other trigger wires for speed, parking brake, reverse sw.,, etc. Also the camera connector is separate. These connectors I've yet to find...Metra doesn't make them. I am trying to find the factory wiring diagram, but have been unable to get the wiring functionality for the ones in question. BTW, I don't need Nav, so I am swapping out for an Alpine unit that has camera input. I temporarily connected this new unit and the audio was incredibly better! even using the factory speakers. this is why I say the factory Bosch unit is awful for audio. The bluetooth and nav, etc work great, but I am an audio person. My plans are to install this Alpine 535 double din unit and then add a sub and upgrade the speakers. Need to find the wiring first so that I can tap into the other wires that I need to make the camera work. LOVE the van. Added insulation and dynamat to the cab.....soooooo quiet. OH. Sorry..... the easiest way for you to add an amp, assuming you have the head unit that I do, is to use a speaker level to line level converter, use an amp that has high level inputs or use a product from AudioControl or JL Audio Clean Sweep. The last two are processors that will make your head unit sound better and give you a digital input for an iPOD or similar. To get to the back connections to the radio you have to first remove the two vents, drivers and center ones, that exposes screws on each side to remove the larger panel to give you access to the drivers side mounting screws for the radio. there is another post that explains it better than I just did. Hope that helps. Rick
  23. I just got mine 2 mos. ago and the map is dated March 2011. The latest upgrade I found is Aug. 2012. I tried to get Nissan to upgrade my SD map chip for free, they told me to contact the dealer, that the dealer was supposedd to stay on top of this (right!). Then called the dealer....sales manager, he said that I would have to buy!!! NOT! Called Nissan again and they are going to get back to me...started a case. (make sure you call Nissan Commercial). I'm waiting....kinda ridiculous to buy a new van and they expect me to pay for a chip that should have been upgraded ...no question!
