  2. GuyKemp - our NV really isn't "finished" yet visually. Still need some bumpers that aren't factory chrome ones. I'll try to post something from the Eastern Sierra trip over the weekend
  3. Take a recovery course - and watch some winch instruction videos online - trying to do too much with too little is not in your best interest. People get killed by winch related equipment failures every year.
  4. Guy Kemp - Advanced Four Wheel Drive in Salt Lake is another NV4x4 converter. Just finished 5 days way off pavement and up to 11,371' with ours in what is my first real off road driving experience. I'm pleased!
  5. The downloaded service manual seems to be in a .rar format Does anyone else see it this way & how is this format viewed? THANKS!
  6. Is the Quigley Nissan 4x control a switch or a lever through the floor (like on Sportsmobiles, Quigley Fords, Quadvan Fords)? If the Hi/Low is an electrical thing I'm wondering if the control is a switch... A mechanic friend who has been under a Nissan once told me in passing last week that he thought the rear in the USA NV might be a US sourced item. I'm going to see him this week and have him contact his Nissan tech friend to confirm or deny this A locker for the rear would be awesome! If it's a US axle that should be easy. If it's a Titan rear axle I bet there are aftermarket solutions for that as well. Back to you Tatunka, what kind of gas mileage are you getting? Dismal fuel mileage might be the only drawback (besides the $ which with 4x4 conversion is real close to what the Ford Transit $ might be) to me saying yes to buying a 4x converted Nissan.
  7. GYD can you tell us how to shim the sliding door to enable the wider tires. Thanks!!!
  8. Can any of you guys comment on the offroad capability in soft sand without a low range 4low gear (just 4high from Quigley)? Thanks!
  9. Can either of you Quigley owners comment on the 4x4 capabilities? I'm out west and primary travel areas can involve sand. Desert or beach sand. DEEP SOFT SAND. I'm worried about the absence of 4 Low. My Ford 4x4 friends tell me not to bother with the Nissan because of the absence of 4 low. They say I could not go where they go or keep up with them in caravans. Any thoughts?
  10. I'm wondering IF there will be 2014's... Dealer I spoke with said they can't even order them yet... At this point I can order and receive a Ford Transit before an ordered Nissan would arrive. I don't want to wait. But I'm not going to buy a white 2013. Especially if the manufacture is quitting the vehicle line.
  11. So Danegeld, just how much hotter is the interior of the black van? I've always shy'd away from black because my perception was that in hot 100 degree sun the interior would be an oven. What is your experience so far? I'm holding out hoping there is a dark silver choice for 2014…
