Dealer couldn't help with some questions... can you?
likeskites replied to Demonseed's topic in Nissan NV 3500 HD
1. Gas Mileage isn't why this vehicle is sold, so what you're hearing for numbers is correct. 2. 3. Seats don't fold down. 4. 5. I am in Alberta. I looked everywhere as well. The dealers seem to have very little room to move because few are being sold. 6. Very few used because very few are sold. 7. There are caps for the whole in the floor. But only a few. If you take out a lot of seats, there will not be enough caps provided unless you purchase more. 8. Insurance in ab is very reasonable. No surprises. 9. 10. No probes with getting parts from the dealer you purchased from. 11. No alarm came stock on my full load NVP 3500 V8 12. Climate controls work adequately for front and rear. No probs. 13. I live in northern alberta. Down the highway in snow is no prob. But I run studded tires too. Going down back roads in the snow, I take into account the weight of this vehicle and what it would take to pull me out, and thus drive accordingly. 14. 15. The nav system sucks. Think about how often your phone nav gets updated. Or you get a new phone with better nav apps, thus rendering your vehicles nav obselete. This will happen. 16. But the v8 and it will purr down the road. Engine will last longer too because it isn't being overworked for its life. 17. Great vehicle. I would buy it again for what it is. I have had problems with an emission control valve that's right at the gas cap point. Keeps telling me the lid isn't on tight enough and then puts on an engine light. I took it in once and they changed the part. But it came back on again. Haven't gone back because it's such an ordeal for me to make it back to the dealer. Other than that, rock solid. I bought an engine scanner and can clear and check that code. Peace of mind in knowing the engine light isn't on for something else. And eventually I'll throw away a day and go get that fixed again. -

Hi there. My wife went through similar feelings about parking when we purchased our NV 3500. The best advice I can give is don't try to get the closest and "best" parking spot. Your driving a large vehicle. Park well away from everyone and walk the extra 1-2 minutes. It will avoid a lot of hassle and problems in the long run. There are sliders on each dome light that will put them into a setting to automatically turn on when a door is open. The console is massive... We just put a few large things in the bottom to soak up space, but are still convenient to have. Wet wipes, armour all wipes in a canister etc... The sonar system random beeps are a very common issue. I have not heard of any solutions. Our solution for the vanity mirror was to purchase a small mirror designed to be used in a school locker, and just keep it in the glove box. Regarding room for groceries - We take out the third seat in the front two rows. So our seating configuration only allows for 10 ppl, but the alley to walk to the back row is now very wide and allows for a lot of room for groceries etc...

I purchase some Nissan Java Mettalic touch up paint, but it is the wrong colour... Apparently the Maxima and the Armada also have Java Metallic, but it is quite different. Has anyone found a good source for paint for the NV? (Specially the Java Metallic)

Does anyone have the LEDs needed sourced online?

Sorry to hear that. My 2015 NV SL has none of the issues you have had. Do you have a block heater with the chord dangling outside? Perhaps this could set of the sensor. I Have noticed it to be extremely sensitive. But has only been an issue when towing a trailer. When towing, I just turn it off.
-
Thats weird. I have the 2015 SL with leather and haven't had this issue at all. Perhaps your driver seat has a production error?
-
Which model you looking at and what price are you being quoted? I've been considering them as well.
-
Awesome idea. Post another pic of the bezel when you can.

Haha yep! Had running boards, roof rack and studded tires on her by Monday. :) Next project is going to be rubber mats for the passenger row seating.

Just purchased these running boards from euroca pers.com https://www.eurocampers.com/2011--2014-Nissan-NV-O-Mega-Step-set--one-98-driver-step-one-98-passenger-step--choose-satin-or-black-finish_p_1296.html Installation process was straigh forward and took about three hours.

Have you considered running boards? https://www.eurocampers.com/Nissan-NV-Cab-Steps-Running-Boards_c_735.html I am about to install these this weekend. They look good in the box right now. I will know soon how they look on the van. edit - ahhhh I missed the not being able to garage it. That's a big deal...

I went to order the rear cargo lights from the linked vendor but they are no longer being made... Any other ideas for something that will work?
