  1. Hello all, I wonder if this is normal, and if anyone has similar issue with me. I have a 2016 Passenger 3500 v8, and tow a 7000lbs trailer. It only happens when I tow the trailer up to the mountains. Even when I am driving slow and easy at 35mph, as soon as i went up a steep grade of about 1000 ft elevation, it gives a very strong and sharp burning smell outside from the engine bay, I can smell it immediately as I got off the van (can't smell it from inside). Both engine and transmission temp gauges shows normal temperature. All fluid are at good level. I also notice the fan goes on a lot when going uphill. Other than that everything else are normal. No smell when towing on flat road. Thanks :)
