2017 Model NV Quigley Update

Just an FYI to all interested.  I just got off the phone with Quigley and they are working with Nissan to allow the newer model to have a useable two speed transfer case.  Quigley says they want to use the newer Titan transmission, transfer case and front drive system to allow use of the hi-lo ranges and as of now it's not heavy duty enough to handle the NV.  Currently the Quigley conversion uses a front drive system that is heavier duty than the Titan.  He said "We have the new 7 speed transmission and two speed transfer case sitting in our shop and we are working on it.  Call back in 6 month and see where we are at".

 

Also just an FYI, my van does have a two speed transfer case but Quigley/Nissan chose to install a removable bracket blocking the lever travel.  Why?

Quigley said it's because of two reasons:

1. While in low range, wheel slip causes the van to go into "limp" mode.

2. Nissan was concerned a low range would "promote" vehicle use that the NV was not designed for which may cause vehicle damage that the warranty would have to cover.

  When I was at Quigley this week.  I saw the Nissan 7 speed and transfercase sitting in the shop.  Yes. They are working that issue and Ernie claims that the 2017 NV will have the 7 speed trans and that they will be able to have the 2 speed transfercase in the NV.

Does that mean 2H, 4H and 4L?

Is that not 3 speeds?

 

I saw the same Trans.  They told me 3-4 years before in NV.

   By 2 speeds, I mean 4Hi and 4Lo.  2Hi is a given.  All I can tell you is what Ernie Sartalis at Quigley said to me.  I thought he said that the 2017 NV would have a 4Lo option.  Maybe I misunderstood him.

I spoke with Ernie this past week at Quigley.

The short of it, still working on it. They hope to have everything ready to go in February 2018.

Just in time for the 2018s likely.

 

Obviously no changes to the power plant in 2018, they would know.

Just spoke with Quigley today on the 2017 conversions. They hope to have everything done by November of this year and then they will begin taking orders. However they will not do actual production until April of 2019!!!!

 

Also, You loose the 5 year / 100k mile warranty with quigley if your vehicle has over 5,000 miles on it. Otherwise the $12,500 price tag only gets you a 2 year 24k mile warranty.  

 

I am looking at buying a 2017 here in the near future and looking to get it converted to 4x4 with a 2" lift kit so I can install 33" tires!

Does this conversion get rid of the 8 lug hubs/wheels and take it to a 6 lug like like the Titans?

  No.  The Quigley conversion maintains the stock 8 lug hubs/wheels.
