fenderfatstrat6 Posted December 20, 2016 (edited) Hey, Friends!!! :) I got a 2012 NV2500 Cargo High Roof V8 SV almost two months ago, and I have been looking forward to owning a big vehicle for quite some time I am and always will be a Die hard Honda (Anything) Guy but I have owned a couple 1991 Nissan 240sx's that got all done up In a super clean, super OEM way ( it's fun to drive a 1991 and people ask if it's brand new) My last car was a Honda Fit which was the largest vehicle I have ever owned ;) The NV is going to be my do it all machine, RV, Motorcycle hauler ( 2012 Goldwing), Stuff hauler and all around a good time. I owned it for about 24hr's Before removing all the interior panels/ trim/ rubber mat on the wall's and floor to see what the bones looked like and what direction I was to be going in. I want to get the cockpit area done up first since everything is apart quite far. Any advice on what people have personally used here for insulation for sound but mainly Thermal? Primarily I am looking to make as similar to the NVP as possible. With that being said I have had some trouble trying to find second-hand Parts at reasonable prices. I would like to know if anyone has a local Salvage yard that has one in it ? or if they bought back an NV after an accident that you would be willing to sell parts off of. Here are some parts I am looking for: 2015 or 2016 NAV Unit 5.8" screen Tow Mode Switch Blue and brown relay/fuses found in fuse boxes by batteryChrome front bumper with fog lights / front parking sensor's Front parking brain box and dash switch. Seven-way harness connector Interior slider door trim panelGlove box Key cylinder and key. Slider Glass door window ( has any one installed a noncontoured Generic RV style venting window in that spot? Thanks, Everyone ! I am hoping to contribute all my Energy and idea's to this community It feels a bit sleepy on here from time to time but stick with me, and I'll stick with you guys! :) Edited December 21, 2016 by fenderfatstrat6
aabel Posted December 24, 2016 Best bet is to call the major salvage yards like LKQ on a regular basis. They inventory everything, and their guys can check the database for you nation wide. The big problem will be finding an SL that's totalled. The vast majority of them are fleet vehicles.
aabel Posted December 24, 2016 Also, I know a lot guys that have used a product called "boat foam" to fill cavities for insulation and sound dampening. It's like expansion foam that expands slowly, so it won't pop any panels or put too much pressure on any one spot. 1 wollip reacted to this
fenderfatstrat6 Posted December 29, 2016 Hey Hey!! :) I have been on Their eBay page often and scouring the entire internet for everything all the time lol probably an unhealthy amount ... But I am in a hurry so no choice. They still don't have everything I am in need of. I need to find a fairly complete NVP, And a Titan first years to 2017 I can retrofit parts off them. I haven't decided what seat's i am putting in OEM seats of some sort, heated and cooled would be the best! I like the Nismo Recaro seat's haha they would lend some classy edginess to the "Fridge" So far I am doing great Just have put a massive amount of face time in the wiring diagrams and fitter guide. I am a never say never guy and 99.99999% of the time I can strategize a solution that is clean and not hacked. :) It seems Nissan creates a ton of part numbers that don't match the exact same part but on a different car, Checking amount of pins, configuration's and connector shape usually get's you going in the right direction. OEM plug and play is a very tasty thing :) As for insulation I am not thinking I will be committing to a permanent blockage to the access of my wiring and future wiring. laharview Posted January 20, 2017 Welcome, As for the window I installed one made by C.R. Laurence (can buy on-line). Fit perfect and a simple install. Check out my build under "Laharview Farm Camper" for step by step photos. I also installed the vented one on the drivers side. Then I installed black 3M 1080 Vinyl wrap to the panels behind the windows to improve the look.
