NVAir Posted December 22, 2016 I am looking to buy an NV in the coming year and my requirements are that I will be buying a high top V8 and using the vehicle to tow an 8,800 lb GVWR (likely no more than 7,500 lb actual) travel trailer with an estimated tongue weight of between 750 and 1000 lbs. I will be loading the NV itself with no more than an additional 1000 lbs, approximately. So I am looking at maybe 2000 lbs payload applied to the NV before weight distribution via the hitch. My inclination was to get the 2500 S model but looking at 2017 MSRP pricing that would be $32,400. I would want to add the power package bringing the cost to $33,050. That is close enough in price to the SV which starts at $33,470 and already includes the power package. Now if I buy a 2500 I also need a $375 hitch and it would be nice to have the $856 towing mirrors. With those added the total MSRP goes to $34,701 Now again that price is close enough to the $35,170 MSRP 3500 SV which already comes with the hitch and tow mirrors to warrant looking at it. I haven't shopped around much so I don't know what discounts are applied to the various models, but am I missing something or does it make sense for those towing a sizeable trailer to simply jump to the 3500 SV and call it a day? Also, I looked at the online owners manual for 2016 and I could not discern a difference in GCWR for the 3500 vs. the 2500. Are they both 16,000 lbs for the V8? Thanks. breeze Posted January 2, 2017 (edited) 2017 specs, but I did see one spec that was superseded already on new v8 engine, but it shows all the capacity and towing of every model complete, because it is confusing without a reference. (it's paged way down in the information to find it - about 3/4's way down under 3rd SPECS button at the top.) http://nissannews.com/en-US/nissan/usa/presskits/us-2017-nv-cargo-van-press-kit Edited January 2, 2017 by breeze
NVAir Posted January 3, 2017 2017 specs, but I did see one spec that was superseded already on new v8 engine... Which was that? HP and torque? And thanks for the link. Didn't see GCWR on there though. Would love to see that.
Randucci Posted April 10, 2017 I just purchased a new 2016 NV2500 SV with the V8, I was told because it was the SV model and a V8, the tow hitch and the heated tow mirrors were included (I wasn't charged for them), I also got the Tech package, it was $32,500.
