Randucci Posted March 17, 2018 I have a 2016 2500 with the 5.6 V8 and want to change the rear differential fluid. The manual says what type of fluid to use, but doesn’t say what the capacity is, anyone know how much is needed? Thanks.
Randucci Posted March 17, 2018 I found it is about 2.75 Quarts.
radin2son Posted March 18, 2018 Why do you want to change the fluid?
Randucci Posted March 20, 2018 Well, I consider the original fluid as “break in fluid”.
radin2son Posted March 20, 2018 (edited) Not that it isn’t there, but I didn’t see this in the service manual or in any posts. I guess it falls under “it can’t hurt.” Particularly if you do your own service and a tech doesn’t have the opportunity to screw it up. At 30 and 60k, I had the optional service whether it needed it or not. Some disagree that this is needed. Edited March 20, 2018 by radin2son
