saveriov Posted March 19, 2018 Greetings: 2015 NV 3500 SL103,000 miles. Has anyone purchased any aftermarket bumpers? Are there actually any available? The dealer wants my first born child for a new one. I think I can salvage the parking sensors, not that they please me at all, as it was the sensor that misled me into backing into that rock, crimping the right side of the bumper assembly. I've been monitoring LKQ locations in my area (NC), but no vans so far. Anyway, your thoughts are appreciated. It's a great truck. Regards,Tom 1 Bamps reacted to this
ASD Dad Posted March 19, 2018 Aluminess makes some but they are BIG bucks. They are "overland" style - heavy duty offroad. Several online places sell chrome or black models. About $400 for chrome and $350-ish for black? Been a while since I looked. I need to pound out or replace my front that has a nice dent in it from my wife backing into me! 2 Bamps and saveriov reacted to this
radin2son Posted March 19, 2018 I damaged my rear chrome bumper trying to turn around on a dirt road in Utah to avoid getting into 4x4 only territory. I thought the dirt berm on the side of the road would not cause any damage. It did but the real damage was that it pushed up the bumper almost to the point of not being able to open the right rear door. The dealer here fixed the bumper position and pounded out the dent. It isn’t smooth like the left side and there is no damage to the chrome. No one notices, but I know it is there. If you dealer won’t attempt this, try a body shop. The same dealer wouldn’t fix the front bumper, saying to try would damage the chrome and the damage wasn’t worth replacing it at $450. I think the body shop manager was implying I would do it again... He’s probably right. 1 saveriov reacted to this

saveriov Posted March 20, 2018 (edited) Thanks for the replies. Right now, the best price I've seen for the rear bumper is $443.60 from nissanpartsdeal.com. Dealer parts will come close to matching, with a prepay, non-return policy. Part #85010-9JE0A, in case anyone else is shopping for this. Saveriov, 103,000 miles on a 2015? Impressive! Yeah, I've got a set of plugs on the workbench waiting for me. The van is in commercial use, FedEx contractor to Custom Critical, to explain the high miles. No real problems except an a/c sensor that went bad fairly early, not to mention those pesky parking assist sensors. Production Date: 12/2014-08/2015Fitting Vehicle Options: V. saveriov Posted March 20, 2018 (edited) You could try these guys if you like the prerunner desert look https://dezertrunneroffroad.wordpress.com Thanks, Bamps. I work with a lot of fork truck drivers, some not very good, skill wise. To protect the factory part, I've got aRhino hitch bumper guard, which has already taken a few hits. The desert look might not meet spec for the non-skill levels of some hi-lo drivers. Appreciate it, though. radin2son Posted March 26, 2018 Will it set off the sensors?
saveriov Posted March 26, 2018 I was concerned that the bumper guard would affect the sensors, but was willing to turn off the parking assist to save the bumper. But the device doesn't seem to have any conflict with the sensors. The front edge of the guard is about 1/4" from the rear edge of the bumper.
