Scranous1 Posted April 25, 2018 Hello to you all; I brought my Nissian 2500 HD to the Dealer due to an Engine light; they said the code ame up as P0448 and they said they had to replace the vent valve control, it was stuck open. They charged me $270.00 for Labor, $159.00 for parts, it took the mechanic 1 hour to complete; I feel like I got robbed.I have 78,000 miles and I never had a problem with any parts going bad. I know It's a 2012 and I shoulgn't complain, BUT.
andy_george Posted April 25, 2018 $270 for an hour? Ask them if they went by the book and it was supposed to be a 2-3 hour job or something. That seems a bit outrageous.
mk1_62 Posted April 25, 2018 This is how most shops bill because it's how the mechanics get paid. If the dealership didn't bill it the shop down the road would. It's a fair price. The guy has probably done a lot of them and has it down. Mechanics make good money because they are usually worth it. 1 andy_george reacted to this
