cvaxsurf Posted September 15, 2018 Does anyone have any idea of the function of the black plastic box, mounted on the inside bottom of the rear, drivers side, quarter panel?
Abejohnson Posted September 15, 2018 If it's what I think your talking about, I believe its a vent.
Mark Rogers Posted September 17, 2018 I looks like a vent, but it doesn't seem to be part of the rear climate control system. (The return vent for the rear climate control is under the second row.) I wonder if it provides an exhaust to the outside for air that blows in from the front. Just a guess.
andy_george Posted September 18, 2018 I think it’s the cabin vent for when a door closes, as on most vehicles. That’s a guess, but it was always my belief that was it’s purpose. 1 Mark Rogers reacted to this
Breuby Posted September 20, 2018 I removed mine and patched over the opening. My guess is the inverter is mounted just above it at floor level in that same cavity. The inverter has a fan and creates heat when it operates hence a vent to allow air movement and heat dissipation. 2 Mark Rogers and andy_george reacted to this
