Fuel economy & dual exhaust

Recommended Posts

I have a 2017 Nissan NV3500 raised roof cargo van with the 5.6 litre engine & 7 speed auto trans.

So far I am fairly happy with the van for the price.  I simply believe there is more to this power train, for power & fuel economy!

Question:  has anyone added “dual exhaust” and installed a better “air intake” system to allow this engine to breathe better and help with fuel consumption (empty/loaded/towing)??

I am will to do what needs to be done, to make this van run as best it possible can.

Any help is appreaciated.

Don't expect any fuel economy.  Especially if you are looking for more power out of it.  You are not dealing with a choked carburetor anymore.

Intake is already really good.  Better than 99% of the so called cold air performance intakes.  and with such limited offerings for the van, just leave it stock.  Open element air filters are really good at letting in lots of dirt and hot air.

Exhaust there are some power gains.  But no off the shelf exhaust kits.

How could you tell, I am old school? LOL

thanks for your advise - I will leave well enough alone.  Wasn’t really concerned with fuel mileage, just wondering if it would help the engine breath and last longer.  Again, thank you.
