5.6l radiator fan always running

Recommended Posts

first, thank you for any help!

Coolant fan comes on when I start the engine...even when it is -20 f.

I am hoping someone here can point me to where, if any, fan relays are?

Not sure where the coolant temperature sensor is either?

I do know where the thermostat is:-)

2016 NVP 5.6l

thank you!

Sensor is located on the head under the intake manifold near the driver front cylinder intake port.  If you're lucky, you have a crankshaft driven fan and its hub is the thermostat for it.  Apparently it could go either way, electric motor or crankshaft drive.  No idea where the relay is.

I have to take the intake manifold cover off? Seen a wire going under the intake cover, wasn’t sure if that was it or if I was looking at it correctly.

Seems to me that sender would trigger a code unless it's only job is to turn the fan on.
