North to Alaska Posted March 17, 2021 first, thank you for any help! Coolant fan comes on when I start the engine...even when it is -20 f. I am hoping someone here can point me to where, if any, fan relays are? Not sure where the coolant temperature sensor is either? I do know where the thermostat is:-) 2016 NVP 5.6l thank you! aztec Posted March 18, 2021 Sensor is located on the head under the intake manifold near the driver front cylinder intake port. If you're lucky, you have a crankshaft driven fan and its hub is the thermostat for it. Apparently it could go either way, electric motor or crankshaft drive. No idea where the relay is. North to Alaska Posted March 19, 2021 I have to take the intake manifold cover off? Seen a wire going under the intake cover, wasn’t sure if that was it or if I was looking at it correctly.
aztec Posted March 19, 2021 Seems to me that sender would trigger a code unless it's only job is to turn the fan on.
