Quigley Owners Update

Recommended Posts

I have a Quigley 4x4 and wanted to hear other owner's feedback, stories, pictures.  I've used my 4x4 on river banks to camp.  Nothing extreme  but the van has sure footed traction on loose 6-8 inch deep gravel with enough traction to climb a steep enough bank that my hitch receiver dug in.  Thanks, Kevin

I've sold a couple as working vehicles.  We have a great many oilfield locations that are 4x4 only as part of the requirements to go on site. To date, not a problem with the three of them, to date not a single bit of negative feedback on all three of them.

It is a truly great conversion done by Quigley.

Quick Question.  Am I the only Quigley NV on this forum?  If so, the 4x4 conversion heading should be consolidated into "Conversions"

I think they and the NV SMB owners started their own secret forum. Judging from past posts and photos, there may be 6+ who converted.

Have you checked out expedition portal? Their search doesn't link to NVs but they are there. I googled NV 4x4 conversions and it came up. Jon Nelson is there. Last time I looked it was qiite active.

Since we have 2 active 4x4 owners, 1 with Quigley and the other Advanced, it would be great if we could get some conversation going on how they are used and the pros/cons from the owners.

Interesting video on YouTube regarding 4x4 Sprinter and Ford cutaway, SMB conversions and trek in the Mohave Desert.

Go to 4xoverland Mohave Road Trail on YouTube.

I put the video here because SMB exclusively did Quigley conversions. I got the impression when we picked up our 2x2 NV and via videos that the conversions were done at SMB west, rather than ship them to Quigley.

I know next to nothing about 4x4 inner workings, so I have no idea if the new Fords are Quigley or not. It would have been more interesting if a 4x4 NV was in this video. Alan Feld didn't even acknowledge NVs can and have been converted by SMB west.

Alan, the owner of SMB, is however very approachable about camper and 4x4 conversions.
