AC > Condenser Fan Issues 2018 Nissan NV 2500. 5.6
crusty replied to Bobby G's topic in Welcome! Introduce Yourself!
A dealer Consult service tool will show all the details. It can also do an active test and force it to run. The trigger for the electric fan is based on vehicle speed, engine temp, A/C pressure. Now being you have a 2018 with the 5.6 you have a second electrically controlled fan. That is the engine driven fan. As I recall, that one doesn't really have any decent scan tool options. The fan clutch can fail and the fan won't move any meaningful airflow. The initial description of what you are looking for sounds like you are searching for info on the electric fan. What it sounds like is the fan clutch isn't working. So not sure which fan issue you have, or if both? - Last week

Hello, Does any one know what are the inputs that the main ECU is supposed to be monitoring to activate the condenser Fan. Is it pressure AC knob position? etc In other words what are the inputs that are supposed to be driving the Condenser Fan? At what point does the Condenser fan kick on? As im reading the pressure switch output from the controller voltage goes up to 5V then the Compressor shuts down for safety. With out the fan working. Here is a bit of a description. The AC does work when the vehicle moves at certain speed. So as the Air is moving through the condense it keeps the High side pressure low enough to keep the AC ON and operational. Once at a stop the High side pressure goes above 380 PSI or around there and then the Pressure switch safety cuts OFF the compressor. The AC System is charged correctly and it does not have a leak. The amount of refrigerant is what the manufactures sticker on the hood is shown. The door test does turn ON the Condenser Fan every time the test is activated. So the Fan it is operational. Also when jumping the wire from the Relay board does come on. IPDM is also good, now bad relay nor IPDM issue. Does any one have any similar issues or know about it? What drives the condenser fan? Is it controlled through the IPDM and ECU via a CAN network? How do you see the ECM command through a CAN Network? Thank you

Largest tire on stock wheel non-lifted
Local Apparent Friday replied to BraapRider's topic in Wheels & Tires
No idea if @AzGRMW007 is still around, says he last visited in '22. Maybe he'll see this ping. Paint is going to hold up on the chrome just like anywhere else...it depends completely on how you prep and apply it, cover it, and take care of it. I plasti-dipped my chrome and it's held up great, but it's on the emblem and such, not the wheels. -
I think you may be better off plasti-dipping the chrome. It sticks nicely to the chrome, and can be fully removed in the future for changes or selling.

Thanks for the reply. So based on your advice, I went ahead and pulled a bit harder on the trim for the door pull but felt I was having to pull to hard and was worried about breaking it. But in the process I noticed that there are two snap in clips that are holding it on, one on the top and one on the bottom, near the opposite end from the pull. I used a flat head to pry up the tab while pulling the trim from the pull side and that did the trick. Thanks again!

I just picked duo a 2013 NV 3500 HD and went to take the chrome "hubcaps" off and was shocked to see they don't come out. This forum has been a great source of info, thanks so much! Just wondering how the chrome painted inserts have been holding up over the years? My head tells me not to try and paint over chrome, that it's not gonna last. The way you guys have done yours look awesome tho, wondering if they still look as good years later?

There is a fill and spill port on the pan. Add fluid until it spills from that stand pipe. Common on most new cars and trucks. Overfilling transmissions, or putting the wrong fluid in them is really bad. If it isn't leaking out, it is still full. Modern engines and transmissions are really good at not leaking.
-
This is correct, the trans is "good for the life of the vehicle" according to Nissan engineers and requires no service. I have not heard of a conversion kit, the earlier 5 speed got a dipstick but its completely different. IIRC this is unique to the 8cyl.

I own a 2018 Nissan nv3500 sl and realized there is no transmission dip stick. You can't check the transmission level and you can't do a transmission flush. I had to bring it to the Nissan Dealer for 300 dollars for the flush. Is there a conversion kit so you can have a transmission dip stick? I f you have a transmission leak you will not be able to check the level or add transmission oil.

All Play and No Work

Perhaps eventually. In the meantime, I will continue the buildout on the NV while looking the titan over to see if I can DIY a 4wd conversion later down the road, and we'll be traveling mostly in the Titan. Pic for attention and all that. -

Good and smart exemple of tire. You mean people like me? :))lol I think there should be a leak which need to be repaired or maybe pressure switch, because I already poured around 1 pound cann two week ago, even with leak, it should work at least for a few second because it will still take little few min to freon escape. Thanks
-
Not every flat tire is 0PSI. You can have a leak and be low, but not zero. Keep waiting, it will eventually get to zero. The relay exists, but is part of the computer. Not user servicable or even accessable. Keep people from doing the wrong thing.
-
Another question, how come there is no Ac Relay in this véhicule? Thanks
-
If there is a leak, it should not empty the whole system and drop PSI to 0?
-
35PSI on the low side without the compressor running isn't enough. That low of a pressure is where the compressor kicks off. You have a leak. Look along the lines and fittings for a oily/dirty spot. That is where your leak is at. You are not going to fix it chasing electrical, that isn't your issue.

I have nv200 2015 cargo van his Ac system doesn’t work. 10A Fuses both are good, one in under steering wheel and other in under hood. There is gas also inside system and showing around 35psi in low line. Showing some pressure also in high line when I push the valve. As soon as I turn On Ac system, the green light on button turn On, the engine rpm goes little bit high like 100rpm to 150rpm also. The both condenser fans start spinning also. When I turn Off Ac system, they both turn Off also. The problem is Ac Clutch Never Kick On, I also turn it by hand to see if it is jam but with hand i can turn it with engine On and Off. I have also push the clutch little bit with wood stick hardly but doesn’t want to kick at all perhaps the condenser fans kick On right way. I tried to find Ac clutch relay but it seem there is no relay in this cargo van. Some people showing relay location but on mine it is DTRL relay instead of Ac relay. I am from Canada in case it might help you understand. Any guesses.. clue.. ?? Thanks

Kiddo certainly makes your day. Congrats. All kiddo needs is a bench seat, bunk and toy chest. Then all will be good.

Man. Been quiet as of late. Started traveling to race tracks and such. Wrecked. 3 surgeries. Had a kid. More surgeries. Still have the van. It's currently being used as a tool shed, although I may need to use it next weekend for its intended purpose. Kinda been sitting on the sidelines since the kiddo...can't figure out much how to travel safely with him in there. Bought an old titan to hopefully help with that...waiting on a PCM replacement to see if it's going to run or not. How are all 3 of you regulars doing? -

I just insulated my rear doors last month. My Cargo van NV2500 panels were pretty easy to remove. There are the plastic round clips where you can take a screwdriver and pry the center out. Once the center is pulled out you can take the entire clip out. The handle that opens the door can be removed by prying away from the door surface - just don't go gorilla on it. The larger handle that is used as a door pull has 2 plastic covers on the bottom that can be pulled away exposing what I believe was 2 Phillips head bolts. sorry for the delayed response.

Windows for High top sliding door

Look for “bunk style” windows. CR Laurence may have a Sprinter or Transit window that fit. No issues with their windows over the past 12+ years. -

Hello, I am curious if there has been any headway on this? Like everyone else, I am looking at the Titan XD aux (50 gal) tank. Thanks, Samuel
