  1. I've had door panels off other vehicles in the past. I want to know about the clear sheet of plastic and the "silly putty" that attaches it to the door. Were you able to reinstall the plastic sheet?
  2. I've removed and installed radios in other vehicles in the past. I'm a little surprised at how much of the dash has to be removed on this one. Any hard to remove pieces or pieces that are easy to break(clips) if one is not really, really careful? Want to install a Bazooka tube(open to other integrated sub/amp combos). Want to look at the harness connector on the back of the radio. I only have 2 door speakers. Need to see what I have as options for the "high level" inputs. I don't want to cut any wires or use those splice connectors.
  3. I see firestone kits for the 1500 and 2500. Maybe it's just an oversight on the etrailer site that they don't have them listed for the 3500? You might also look into the Timbrens and Sumos: http://www.etrailer.com/susp-2016_Nissan_NV+3500.htm One thing I liked about those that I saw on a Promaster camper; is they were always engaged and "preloaded" the rear suspension. That would have to make it more stable. Last picture in the article: http://wincrasher.blogspot.com/2015/08/another-vile-and-disgusting-timbrens.html?spref=tw
  4. Looks like they are behind the kickpanel. Page 169: http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/refgh0v/og/BBG/2012-2017-Nissan-NV-Cargo-Van-BBGv1.pdf
  5. This unused plug near the driver side kick panel is the upfitter plug? Where do I get the plug for it? Preferably with a pigtail.
  6. I'd like to see how the front diff is mounted and the transfer case.
  7. Somewhere on their page you can request a free sample of the material. It's about a 6" square piece. I haven't tried cutting on it but I'm sure it will cut very easily with a utility knife.
  8. I've got the backup camera; haven't installed it yet. What did you do for getting power to it?
  9. Yeah maybe too late; but it could still happen for the 2018 model: The armrest is too high. Get someone who is 6'4" and has long arms and have them sit there. It makes my shoulder hurt if I use it. I have to keep my arm in a raised position to be able to use it. Do away with the CD player in the base radio and add either or both a USB port and Bluetooth. Using the line in jack with an Iphone is tedious. How about let customers order any window placement they want? One rear door window instead of two? A window on one side only? Should be able to do that. Should seriously consider doing up an electric model. Put one or two Leaf packs in it. I would have bought my current NV as electric had it been available. An upgraded security lock for the back door would be nice. Also plexiglass windows as an option. If my two front windows weren't made of glass; that would be a huge boost for vehicle security. Maybe even consider doing a version of the vehicle that is low to the ground. Some applications would prefer that. I'm really surprised Nissan doesn't offer a cutaway version of the vehicle to the RV market. Or offer an enclosed cab with exposed rear frame rails for applications that want that. I've owned a lot of vehicles and this one is by far the most useful vehicle of them all. Pure utility and function. Just such a machine. I enjoy driving it everyday. The general public doesn't know: The NV is built in Canton Mississippi. Is based off the Titan(hence the truck front end). Is on a full frame(IE, a real frame). 4 wheel drive? Diesel? I still think and feel this vehicle should be marketed more along the lines of the old full size Blazer and Bronco or even Suburbans. It seems more like those vehicles then it does a traditional van. A van to me was what it was because of that dog house the engine was in. The promaster/transit are more minivan like in their construction. The NV should be marketed as a complimentary vehicle to the TItan. Like the Tacoma/4 Runner. More of an SUV or enclosed version of the truck.
  10. Yeah that spot looks nice; but it seems like it's always getting scratched, almost scratched, or I have to be extra careful not to scratch that spot. It just seems like there should be a better way to design this one spot to make it tougher and more durable. It's always right in the middle of any loading or unloading either on it or over it.
  11. Don't order the handle it shows on the left door or you'll end up with a spare for the right door. Nissan got interns working there or what? They been in the car business long? http://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts-list/2016-nissan-nv-1500/back-door-trimming.html?Filter=(5=S) Why would I want a handle on the inside of both doors? So I can close them while in the vehicle. Also it seems that pocket or whatever it's called that goes on the left door isn't available for sale?
  12. Ok so it appears the hazard trick turned off the auto unlock feature when it's put in park. Which would be just fine if it didn't still auto lock the doors at 15mph OR the door handle unlocked a locked door like on most other cars.
  13. Well they still auto lock even though the procedure seemed to take. Very strange.
  14. I couldn't wait. I did it and it blinked the hazards and seemed to take. Will be tomorrow before I drive it to see. Have to hold down the unlock button for what seems like forever. Every bit of that five seconds plus.
  15. Just found this. I'll have to try it tomorrow: The automatic door locks (UNLOCK) function can be switched ON/OFF by performing the following operation. Close all doors (door switch OFF). Turn ignition switch ON. 3. Within 20 seconds of turning the ignition switch ON, press and hold the door lock and unlock switch to the UNLOCK position for more than 5 seconds. The switching is completed when the hazard lamps blink. OFF → ON : 2 blinks ON → OFF : 1 blink The ignition switch must be turned OFF and ON again between each setting change. This function is set to ON before delivery. http://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual?fsm=NV/2016%20NV/DLK
  16. I had gone through the manual page by page. But I did skip over the 1,000 pages about the radio. I did see mention about a feature preventing one from locking their keys in the vehicle. Which is what I think this open door trick is. With the door open and the key in; press lock; yes it will unlock the doors. Everytime. I did the door open trick three times and on test drives it still locks the doors. One has to hit about 15 mph for them to lock. So no; this door trick didn't do it.
  17. Mine is the cargo. Those numbers are from USAA.
  18. Are these numbers high, low, or average? Is the cheapest one "good enough "?
  19. When I throw it in park; I really don't appreciate it unlocking EVERY door in the vehicle. How can one disable that? I'd also like to turn off the auto lock when I first start driving so it will quit wearing out my door locks.
  20. And you know these days how all the parts places want a VIN to look up parts; I had a pic of it on my phone. He claimed it wasn't in the system. Van was built last month from looking at the door sticker.
  21. I went to a local place to see about getting the lights: http://bhpdc.com/ I had the parts diagram with the prices printed out from here: http://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/ He said "at $22 their giving them away". Claimed that's the same as the price they get them from Nissan. So if you wondered if $22 might be a good price; it might well be.
  22. Pry up the back edge then the front edge. Removed real easy. I just put my fingers under the outside edge and lifted. This actually removed easier than the back piece over the bumper. Interesting bracket. What was it's intent? Installed: All loaded up and the reason I bought the van. I'd say the mat feels about the same as a really hard bed at a motel. I like it.
