I would get a take out console from one of the newer trucks and use it. LKQ or pick a part should have a good variety. Most of them have usb and charger spots in them that you can wire in as well.

Fist, take a deep breath :) Second, when you say that Advanced 4x4 doesn't have the kit, do you mean they just don't have the larger height kit you want? I got my lift kit parts from Advanced 4x4. Custom strut spacers that they fabbed up themselves on the front, and the rear was a block kit (the blocks themselves were for a 90's F-350 I believe) and longer U-bolts etc. Advanced 4x4 wasn't very excited to sell them, but I was really nice to them and asked them if I could just buy the lift parts by themselves. We have unique vans which are awesome!!! .... but that means the aftermarket scene will be more scarce.

I’m about ready to do some sound deadening also. In addition to the fatmat/dynamat has anyone filled voids with spray foam? I was going to throw some spray foam in the mix, but didn’t know if anyone had done it?

You'll learn to trust the backup camera pretty quick. Slide the interior light switch to the center position and they will come on automatically when the doors open. **** Get LED interior lights!!!! They make a world of a difference!!! We use seatbelt latch extenders with the hard cable link, so they can bend and stay in place sticking up and be easy for the kids to latch. As for cargo, there are a ton of organizers you can get on Amazon if you want everything to stay tight.

I second that as well. Transmission slippage "should" be exaggerated in higher gears rather than at initial acceleration in a steep gear where it's easy to get moving.

I'm moving from CA to Texas, and am adding the Curt receiver which bolts or welds to the frame of the TT. Then you can slide in a bike rack or a cargo tray. I'll post pictures once I put it on next week.

It just doesn't feel right pulling all the weight just by the same mechanism that opens the regular doors. If I add a handle I'll post some pics.

I always find myself reaching to the back of the sliding door and pushing it closed. I don't like wrenching on the front plastic handle so much, so I'm thinking about adding a handle to the exterior rear of the door mounted vertically. It would especially help whenever the van is parked on any inclines. Am I the only one who thinks he needs this?

One of the amps I just installed has an auto sensor that turns on the amp from either rca inputs or speaker level inputs. Meaning it does not need a remote turn on wire. I believe it was a Pioneer 8601 4 channel amp @ 100 watts rms each. I also added an old school Directed 1100D mono sub amp to throw 1000 watts at a nice 10" sub I had.

What are your thoughts on your LED headlights? I scoured the internet trying to find a good set, but didn't find any that made sense at the time. I ended up going with HID's.

Perhaps an odd Bluetooth connection issue? Only thing that would be hooked up to factory speakers I believe?

Did you cut out any plastic where the rear speakers are? We're a huge music family, and I plan on doing the same in the future. I just noticed that there is a lot of plastic in front of the rears, which would muffle the sound.

I got my lift kit from Advanced, but they were less than courteous. They probably made it standard practice to not sell that stuff to individuals anymore, and just offer them for 4x4 conversions.

Go to scales at any truck stop. Many times you don't even have to pay for it, just park on the scale and go in the cashiers office and look at the digital weight display that is in clear view most of the time. You only need to pay if you want it certified.

Also, I know a lot guys that have used a product called "boat foam" to fill cavities for insulation and sound dampening. It's like expansion foam that expands slowly, so it won't pop any panels or put too much pressure on any one spot.

Best bet is to call the major salvage yards like LKQ on a regular basis. They inventory everything, and their guys can check the database for you nation wide. The big problem will be finding an SL that's totalled. The vast majority of them are fleet vehicles.
