  1. Just because I asked for clarification on a statement I found to be hard to figure out does not make me a troll. Notice that is my real face and my real name. I said you exaggerated or made a mistake. I did not call you a liar. If I meant liar I would have said liar. I think you are being too sensitive. I have put a lot of effort into improving my MPG in my own van. Then you say you have bested all my efforts by just driving slower and less aggressive. Of course I wanted to know how you did that. Now if you would have said I got 15.5 coming back from Flagstaff I wouldn't have blinked an eye. You made me believe that is what you get all the time in Tucson with solar panels installed the way you pictured in a previous post. I find this to be unlikely so I asked you to clarify. I didn't realize you would get so upset as to want to pick up your toys and go home. Enjoy your thread. I apologize for my unintentional disruption.
  2. No pissing match was intended. I just wanted to know how you were getting such differant numbers. I think by your answer I have satisfactory figured that out. You exaggerated your MPG. You shouldn't do things like that. Especially when websites like Fuely exist where over 280 fuel records exist. It is so easy to see what so many owners are getting. Not a single person got what you have BTW. Hence my confusion. I know this might be embarrassing but just be careful not to exaggerate. It just isn't necessary. I thought for sure you had just made a mistake. Thanks for your response.
  3. OK so when you fill up and you get back in the van your estimated mileage is 430 or more? You are saying you get over 40 miles per tank more than everyone else I have ever talked to including myself. Are you sure you are calculating correctly. Take the estimated millage after you fill up and divide it by 28 and see if it matches close to your 15.5 MPG. I am not saying you are lying, I just have no clue how you are getting such a drastic increase in mileage even with solar panels on the roof. Also Breeze, the hi tops get about 2 mpg less than the standard roof. The high tops are giant sails going down the road. Also for me I have added a lot of weight now that the batteries are installed and it still has not affected the milage. I get a solid 14.09 MPG no matter what so far. I like your sink. I am almost to installing my sink as well.
  4. I am really surprised by your reported 14mpg with a V8. I have the V6 high top and drive mostly on the freeway. I have nothing on the roof yet and I get a consistent 14mpg. I was at the Rubber Tramp Rendezvous just a couple weeks ago where there were a few other NV's there. All of our MPG matched and the V8's reported 12mpg highway. You are doing something right. That is for sure. I live in Mesa BTW.
  5. I had this idea myself. Gave up and now I use the van for my conversion and a small light trailer for the bike. Hopefully you get it working.
  6. If anyone is interested I am making videos of my NV build. I also have a couple of other NV's I came across recently on my YouTube channel. Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoblA2N_5kI0uWqMCIo5etA
  7. Looking great. I will get back after mine when it cools off some.
  8. Thanks for the reply. I am waiting for it to cool down so I can get to building mine.
  9. Did you put the plywood on top of the stock rubber floor cover or did you take it all out first?
  10. I will be going on another trip at the beginning of September. I will make sure I close it firmly and hope it doesn't happen again. So far it hasn't happened again but I haven't been in the back for any length of time yet.
  11. I hope I got it fixed but I personally felt it was a problem with the lower cable moving to much. Who knows. I guess I will just have to see if I got it figured out.
  12. I bought my van to do a camper conversion and I took it camping and went to open the sliding door and it would not open. The button felt spongy and would not disengage the lock. This happened a few times. Once I made my way into the cab and around the outside of the van the outside handle would open the door no problem. As you can see this is a big problem in a camper where the other doors are much more difficult to use to exit. Has anyone had this happen before? I read online that there is a problem with the contacts on the sliding door so I did the washer fix real quick and it hasn't happened again but I have not been camping again yet.
  13. I just drove mine in a real bad rain storm and no leaks here so far. This does have me worried though. Anymore news on this issue?
  14. How are your cabinets attached to the side of the van?
