We finally got the nv today and I am pumped. It's actually better than I had hoped, it rides incredably smooth and is very comfortable. But we were trying to find something inside when it was dark out and I couldn't figure out how to turn on all the dome lights without opening the door. I know I can open any door and it turns on all the lights but I can't find a switch that turns on all the lights. Every other vehicle I have owned has had a switch somewhere on the dash usually connected the instrument display illumination. Am I missing something obvious? Or can I only turn on 1 dome light at a time?

I thought the airbag was there right from 2012 on. Nvdad81

If I can add my Thoughts 1. Nv are new, this cuts down on people buying old versions of the van and need lots of help to do their own work. 2. Nv are reliable, no problems no complaints 3. People are afraid to comment. Most Internet forums are plagued with trolls. This makes a forum uninviting. It's like avoiding a playground cause all the bullies are hanging out there. 4. People with nv passengers have so many kids to look after, they simply don't have time to post. I sure there are other reasons too but I'm guessing time will fix this problem. Nvdad81

Has anybody added a power sliding door to their nv? It's my only wish on the nv since I have a bunch of kids and they are to small to open close the door on any type of slope. Or does anyone know of any kits that could be installed on this van? Thanks Nvdad81

That's great to hear. I was interested to see where they showed up first. Hope it serves your family well.

I was at my dealer on Friday and he said that they just confirmed that our van is in Toronto now. It just needs to be shipped to our dealer, he said it could be any day now. There is a 2017 cargo on the lot already. Has anyone taken delivery of a 2017passneger van yet? It's funny we are the first one to order an nv passenger at our dealer, they offered us a free detailing if we bring it in on occasion to show to other customers.

Looks like our van is going to be here in a week or two and it will be right in the middle of winter. So I'm forced to get winter tires. I've had good luck with Bridgestone blizzaks but only on small vehicles. So I've been doing research on the blizzak w965 an the are made for light trucks, in fact it's the same tire they put on ambulances here in Ontario, but they are expensive. Has anyone put these on their nv? If so, how are they? Thanks Nvdad81

So I stopped by my nv dealer this week and they said it is in production. No vin number yet. They said they are hoping for a early to mid February arrival. Hope they are right. I'm starting to get a little excited. Nvdad81

I was watching captain America civil war the other night and the highlight of the movie was when Hawkeye was sitting in an nv2500 cargo. First time I have seen an nv in a movie/tv show. Anybody else see it? Or see an nv in anything else?

The higher price tag seems to be in line with the new power train. I'm glad there isn't any changes since the van seems to be rock solid. A power sliding door and a running board are about the only things I want that it doesn't have. Nvdad81

Thanks for the responses. I'm convinced these vans aren't death traps or I wouldn't buy one. But it is a bit on the frusterating not know how well it keeps the occupants safe. I'm just surprised it's hard to find pictures even of accidents. I'm guessing that has to do with the fact that there are so few on the road.

I have searched high and low for some information about how these nv handle them selfs in a crash. Whether it is a front end rear end side impact or a roll over. Nothing. I can't even find a picture of one on the internet that shows one that has been in a crash. Does anybody have any information? Are these vans death traps or do they do ok? I guessed with their long front end they might fair well in a front end but who knows. Nvdad81

I was actually surprised at how little was known of 2017. It's kinda weird buying a vehicle that is a mystery even to the dealer. Basically they used the 2016 pricing as a template and said they would get back to me about any increase in pricing. Right now we are going on a msrp of about $49000 cdn a bargain since we were looking at a Ford transit that was about $59000 and still no leather seats. So as far as I can find out the only change is the engine and transmission which I guessing will cause around a $2000 increase. But other than that it should be identical to the 2016. Our 5th is due in June. So I'm hoping the van is here before that. I'm also hoping my current vehicle last till then too. I swear it knows we are going to replace it and is causing significant problems to drain me right at the end. We are up to about $2900 in repairs in the last 4 months. Nvdad81

Hello all! Me and my wife have been looking at large passenger vans for a few years now, and with finding out we are expecting our 5th child we decided it was time to make a move. We have gone to our local Nissan dealer that just became a commercial dealer this year and put in our order for a 2017 nv passenger. We were told it would be a long wait for it to arrive probably into march of next year but we are excited anyways. I've been viewing this site for a few months now and it seems that just about everything I need to know can be found or found out here. So I don't see myself as becoming a big customizer but it is interesting to see what some have done with theirs. My wife will be the main driver to shuttle my kids around. So all I care about is that it is safe and reliable with all that precious cargo. Thanks for letting us be part of your community Nvdad81
