  1. To make it easier and not hack up the factory wiring you can buy an aftermarket stereo and get the wiring harness adapter that just plugs in to your original harness and then gives you instructions on how to wire to your new head unit and then you can just run rca cables to the sub woofer and a power and remote wire for it too i would run the main power wire for the subwoofer from the battery and make it a heavier gauge wire. hth
  2. I was just reading on the titan forum and one guy said he had his titan dynod before and after a bdgt and it acually lost him power i can see the wot at the start making a difference but other than that i would go with the type of programmer that flashes the ecm like the uprev to make a difference.
  3. What does your factory stereo look like and do you have any steering wheel controls and blue tooth?
  4. that is really cool if you dont mind me asking how much did that cost, and where did you get it? its not like i use the rear view mirror for anything else other than checking on what the kids are doing in the back anyway.
  5. Yeah I used to get lots of people asking me question about mine and wanting to look at it too. That has lessened it might be because you see more of them out there now. Most of my friends refer to my van as "THE BUS" and yes i'm also the largest vehicle waiting in line to pick up my kids too.
  6. I found the article I read about the engine being related. http://autoweek.com/article/detroit-auto-show/nissan-titan-xds-cummins-diesel-engine-what-we-know-so-far
  7. it is even the same weight I have read some articles on it before I wish I remembered where they were. But i assure you it is basicly the same engine maybe with a new injection system and a higher boost pressure.
  8. The engine is made up of this engine used in buses . https://cumminsengines.com/isv?#overview
  9. How many miles do you have on your van now desertted? I found with my van after I put on 15000km I found the fuel mileage improved from new. That is what I considered broke in lol.
  10. I was wondering if anyone has found any aftermarket accessories like a bug deflector, bull guard, led tail lights etc for the NV?
  11. I am one for diesels but that might be the truck driver in me and that 5.0L engine is an engine that has been around for a while they use it in buses etc. with more H.P. but it is the same engine just with different tuning that is why when they were doing the testing for the xd they would show people and press the motor because it was an already released motor for cummins you may find out in the titan forum of some guys getting a lot more power out of them and i think it would up the towing capacity like it did with the titan because the titan with the 5,6 can only tow 9200lb and the cummins can tow 12200lb.
  12. I bought my van at www.sherwoodnissan.ca they are actually located in sherwood park alberta which is right next to edmonton and the closest dealer to me in the area of edmonton i live in. When I pull my trailer I pull it at 105 km/h on average.

  14. Im not sure what im doing right but I am a truck driver and used to pulling a trailer and i get about 8 mpg with my rig on average with a 12.7 l detroit
  15. I was just wonder if anyone has seen the xtreme 4x4 episodes where they convert a NV into a 4x4 and put a 5.0 cummins in it. This was all sanctioned by Nissan america so does this mean a cummins is in the future for the NV and maybe a 4x4 built on the line http://www.powernationtv.com/post/even-more-on-our-nissan-nv-xor-van
  16. lol that was 15L/100km we also own a nissan cube I just drove my van to and from work but im am off work sick right now so that cuts back on the milage even though i live only 4 km from work.
  17. What kind of DVD system did you put in your van right now i just have a dual screen that hangs on the headrest and I ran the wires for the one screen to the other along the hooks by the windows but sometimes I get I cant see the screen from some of the kids.
  18. There is a great number of dealers in Alberta I bought mine at sherwood nissan I live in edmonton alberta and i see these vans everywhere in cargo or in passenger and the dealer we bought our van from also has 4x4's. As for camping suggestions I usually stay within Alberta but this year all the national park passes are free but you will have to book early to get a camping spot. I do like camping at Jasper national park the whistlers campground, if your closer to Edmonton you could camp at Miquelon lake we go there often. We have also gone to cross lake provincial park which is north of Edmonton.
  19. I only have 28000 km on it and so far the only problem i have had with it was the rear doors creaking. I had to take it in multiple times for that as it sounded like it was the slideing door and they kept adjusting that till one day they had 2 techs ride in it at one time to figure it out. I get about 15L/100 for fuel mileage even towing my trailer i have a 24' fleetwood one of the reasons for getting the van because my wife was tired of camping in a tent trailer as that was all we could pull with a mini van. I find that this van uses about maybe even a little less that my last dodge caravan.
  20. My name is Laurier I own a 2012 NV passenger SV 5.6. I have owned it from new and I have 4 kids and like to camp.
