Getting ready for a dry run today before spring break and also had the same issue with no power to the brake lights or my other lights on the 7-pin harness so thanks for everybody for your posts, I'm going to test this out tonight and see what my diagnosis is. Fortunately I won't have to cancel a camping trip as I was only putting my Thule hitch mounted Cargo Carrier on the back.

Anyone installed the Roadmaster Active Suspension kit?
TinyStudio replied to Randucci's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
I replaced our 2009 Ford Expedition EL Limited (with auto leveling rear air suspension) which I enjoyed because it kept everything level with a 2017 NVP 3500 SL. I hope I don't have a sagging issue when I hook up the travel trailer. Otherwise I'm going to look at some options to keep it level. ASD dad, how was the tongue weight on your trailer that you tow? I believe ours is near 800#. -

How To: Remove dash panels to access radio or pockets
TinyStudio replied to ASD Dad's topic in Audio & Navigation
When I took off the kick panel on the drivers side I noticed there's a screw on my 2017 holding the gray panel that houses the seat heater buttons on the left. There's probably a screw at the right hand side by the glove compartment door. If you take those out it may pop off but you might have to remove the floor console to remove it, at least it's in the way on mine. -
How To: Remove dash panels to access radio or pockets
TinyStudio replied to ASD Dad's topic in Audio & Navigation
I want to preface this by saying I have a 2017 Nissan NV 3500 SL with navigation. I followed the directions you guys all had for taking the dash apart to get access to the radio and I think they've simplified it on the 2017 version. You no longer have to remove the screw down at the kick panel or the one with the engine hood release. You can take everything off that you need to without unscrewing anything, get the panel removal tool as ASD dad suggested and start your way from the left heater vent. Pop that off then carefully pop off the trim around the instrument cluster. Remove the two screws on the left side of the trim retaining plate around the radio pop, off the right heater vent on the right side of the radio revealing the two other radio trim screws then you pop that off to access the head unit. There were multiple purple wires going into the 18 pin connectors so I think the next way to maybe activate the reverse cam is to find the power that feeds the camera. I'll post pictures so you guys know actually took it apart. -
5.6 liter V8 engine searching at 1000 RPM
TinyStudio replied to TinyStudio's topic in Nissan NV 5.6L Engine
Well I've got 1,100 miles on Beastie now and I'm getting better gas mileage 12.4 miles to the gallon but it still hesitates between 1000 and 1500 RPMs like I said before I'll get it checked when I take it in for its oil change -
Replacing Stock Radio - wheres the VSS wire?
TinyStudio replied to Dennis.Moore's topic in Lounge - Nissan NV
Which wires are for the backup cam into the head unit. I see from the rear of the truck the cam goes into purple, yellow, black, and white. Also look I g for what each color is for.- 8 replies

No backup alarms are available to plug in to the reverse bulb so I added one from etrailer.com The BK97DB wires inline with the positive reverse wire of your reverse bulb (the red wire with blue line). After cutting that wire and splicing in a lead from the positive terminal on the alarm then connecting the negative to a clean connection on the NV you are now safer, alerting all you can't see behind you that you are coming. Helpful given the obstructed view to the back if you want added safety beyond the rearview camera.

What type of connector is used for the video input from the backup cam into the head unit? Before I tear this apart it would be good to know to save some effort or just run new video cable to the new equipment -
Agreed! Review the total GVW, front to back weight distribution, tongue weight, and play it safe. Not to mention the weight of fresh, grey, and black tanks.

Welcome aboard! Our family of 7 hasn't had the opportunity for an extended trip yet as we've only had the beastie for 3 weeks. My commute is 15 miles each way. The beeps from the sonar happen often but my cruise control is fine for now, no hills. Getting 11.4 mpg so far. Our 3500 NVP SL is black, your color is beautiful. Cheers!

I purchase the master Tailgaters rear view mirror with two video inputs and we'll hook up the existing rearview to the mirror and then add my RV travel trailer camera to the head unit video. When the travel trailer is hooked up and in Reverse will see it on the head unit but then when the stock camera is in Reverse will see it on the mirror (all the time if desired). I can toggle to see the front cam to see how close we are to something. Also adding a backup alarm because in our cul-de-sac there are 27 kids

Interior ceiling is 10' and in the picture you can see the soffit. There is iron across the structure, steel posts on either end. The "header" I referred to is not a supporting structure, primarily houses the soffit fascia and the small pitched roof outside the 2nd floor windows. I would not jeopardize the integrity of the structure for short-term gain. But I am happy that you guys are concerned thanks for watching out for me

Trimmed an inch and a half off my header and then put the trim back on the garage and our 2017 Nissan 3500 NVP SL fits with about an eighth of an inch to spare as long as the pressure in the rears is 70 or less PSI. if you have brick at the top of your garage this will not be an option and you'll have to spend about a thousand bucks to do an 8 foot garage might be the cheaper and safer way to go. I also maxed out the limits of my LiftMaster garage door opener to get the door all the way to the top and back a little bit.

5.6 liter V8 engine searching at 1000 RPM
TinyStudio replied to TinyStudio's topic in Nissan NV 5.6L Engine
Took Beastie to the Nissan dealer to flash the ECU for the Service Bulletin and it hasn't corrected the issue. My issue is hesitating at about 1,100 RPM to 2,000 RPM. I'm not having transmission issues, it's like it's not getting enough fuel or spark at that specific RPM. Happens when the motor is cold and warm. I'm getting 11.8 MPG right now and stomping on the gas takes care of it. It shouldn't do that though. -
Does the camera have an RCA connector that I can unplug from the head unit and into a different monitor?
-
Here's an update I am probably going to do a rear view mirror with two three or four input that I can switch to have constantly on some great options out there just search rear-view mirror 2 AV input

Dealer couldn't help with some questions... can you?
TinyStudio replied to Demonseed's topic in Nissan NV 3500 HD
I'm getting about 12.7 miles to the gallon in my night 2017 3500 V8 SL we got 5 kids and we have a 6000 pound 35 foot travel trailer replace starter 2009 Ford Expedition and I'm very happy so far unfortunately the seats don't fold down I really wish they did that would make it more user-friendly when I have to go to the hardware store love how it toes great vehicle happy I made the decision and like some of the other posts say it is a conversation starter. Good luck with your search and comparing the transit to the Nissan, we did that because it can tow up to 8700 pounds -
