  1. I've done what you described, but what I really want to do is have 4 seats across the 3rd row. I want to block off the cargo area from the kids and give extra seats in the same 3 row configuration. If I could get four across the third row I would probably build some sort of storage system for luggage, groceries etc in the back. If anyone knows how to put four seats across the third row (and not just taking out a middle row so that the back is the fourth row ;0) let me know please.
  2. I am looking for ways to reconfigure my seats in ways that the vehicle is not currently set up for. For example I would like to put four seats across the third row or maybe put a single seat by the window. I was wondering if maybe you could put down a thick sheet of plywood and install the latches on top any where you want, or just move the ones that are there. In short I want to know if you can get the floor seat latches somewhere or if you can get these mods done somewhere. thanks
  3. So, I have installed the TV and it works pretty well. I found the support rib just behind the front seats and simply put metal screws into that rib to hold the under cabinet tv mount. It worked great, but it broke. We lived on a pretty bumpy road for a while and it didn't hold up. I actually reordered the exact same one to reinstall. The TV works great. We put in a 17" monitor with built in DVD. I ran the power cord for the TV and the audio wires through the headliner and under the trim pieces. I've plugged in the TV in the AC outlet inside the console and the audio I ran to the auxiliary plug for the vehicle sound system. It works really well and everyone can see if we take out some headrests (our kids are small so they are not not needed anyway.
  4. I too was frustrated with the lack of the fuel mileage calculator. I noticed that it has the every useful "average mph" calculator. I'm no mathmatician, but i'm pretty sure the exact same computations could be used to give you the MPG's.
  5. I read somewhere on this forum where someone put down a plywood subfloor, but I'm not sure how they would attach the stock seats. Has anyone does this? I'd really like to put four across the third row, and it would be awesome to set my own seat depth. If I could put the seats anywhere I wanted I would like to give extra room to the second and third rows and leave the back for storage.
  6. I have the tv and a fold down bracket. I was thinking about putting a thin backer, maybe 1/4" plywood behind the roof liner. My plan was to premeasure the holes in my mount, drill holes in the plywood and the roof liner, put carriage bolts down through the holes in the roof and attach the mounting bracket. All that being said, I am anxious about taking down the head liner especially since there are airbags in the side columns. Has anyone taken out the head liner in the NV low top? Also, I have the regular tv, but the sound is not going to be great, any simple plans for getting more sound out of this tv? Add side speakers? How about running wires? I need to power this tv. I was planning on running a wire through the headliner and inside the trim, under the carpet to the inside of the console and plug it in there.
  7. I have a 2013 NVP low roof unmodified. I was under the impression when I bought this van that I could configure the seats in many different ways. That was a selling feature, but what I found out was that really, you can only remove seats, not reconfigure them. Either they are in or out, but not switched around. For instance, my main wish would be to put 4 seats across the third row and leave the back for cargo storage. But you can not put that back passenger side seat anywhere in the van except exactly where it is. It will not fit in the seond or third rows. Likewise the single seats on the second and third rows will only fit on the outside of the second or third rows. So, I cannot put a single seat next to the window on any row and I cannot put 4 across on any except the fourth row. I thought it would be cool to put captian chair style on the second row and four across the third... not gonna happen. Has anyone done simple alterations to allow more configuration? Can you buy the floor mounts for the seats anywhere and install them? Also I heard a rumor that you can turn the seats around to face the rear. That would be handy for long trips to have rows facing each other. I attempted this by myself and it didn't go well. Just curious if anyone has gotten this to go?
  8. I have a V6 low roof loaded with 6 people and I get 18 on the highway easy, about 15-16 around town. I divide gallons into mileage so no computers to bother with.
  9. We just traded our 2002 Yukon XL with almost 200k for a new 2013 NVP V6. We paid a lot less for this van than a new Suburban and we also purchased the 100k bumper to bumper warranty. We have had the door locking issue, but that's not a big deal to me because I never trust cars with automatic door locks. I never leave my keys inside unless the door or window is open (had too many bad experiences there). It's happened a couple times. Other than that it has run perfectly. I've had mine for about five months. We have taken a few trips in it already. I have the V6 so my mileage is comparable, maybe better, than my old Yukon XL. We get about 18-19 on the highway if you drive speed limit or just below. If you have a family you will "NEED" running boards to get in and out. Check the specs, the first step is 18" from the ground. That's twice what a normal step in your home is. It runs well, and drives well. I really hate the fact that Nissan deleted the MPG function from the dash computer in 2013. That would be much more useful than my average speed? Why would anyone care what thier average speed was? Some issues to consider: The cargo area is difficult to load. You may want to install some netting or something for things like groceries. If you have all the seats in there is 0 cargo space, so consider that. There is storage under the seats though. It is very hard to install a dvd player that works for everyone. I installed mine in the Yukon, but am still researching how to make it work in the NV. You can not arrane the seats any way you want. I don't know if that is the impression you have, but that is what I thought when I purchased mine. The back is the only row that can have 4 across. I would love to be able to put 4 on the third row and leave the back for storage, but you can't do this. On the second and third rows only a single seat will lock into place on the outside. Nor can you put a single seat against the window, only double seats. However, you can put one seat right in the middle if you were so inclined.
  10. Ours in an unmodified 2013 NVPassenger. The view is going to be difficult to achieve for all 3 back rows. Maybe I should consider multiple smaller screens. But for now I am just looking for a simple pragmatic solution for me. I'm not very confident about altering the vehicle, such as drilling holes in interior panels etc. I want to make sure I'm not going to pop a hole all the way through the outside sheet metal or sever an electrical line or something. But thanks for your advice about the power consumption and brackets. By the way Elfmaze, how are you mounting your futon to the floor? I'd love to be able to reconfig my seats.
  11. Mine has done this as well. My wife normally leaves it unlocked at home, but I've noticed that if I unlock it in about 10-15 minutes it will lock itself back. Mine even locked with the doors open while we were packing for a trip. Would be nice to know why it does this.
  12. I would like to install a flatscreen tv about 20". I don't want the typical drop down kind that use the dome light. I want to install a regular flat screen and dvd player. I've thought about mounting the tv lower from the flooor, but with the high seats it seems like it would be better viewing to mount it to the roof. I've thought about mounting it to the side as well. I have a 2013 regular roof. Has anyone done anything like this? If so, got any pics or how to's?
