  1. Welcome to the forums, Capital Nissan Commercial. Thanks for selling my family our NVP 3500 last July. I live up the road from you in Snead's Ferry with our family of eight. See you soon. Donald Reynolds
  2. I am still following along. Hate to see the low MPG's. I am out of the country for a while, so I am not sure how the NVP is doing with fuel economy. My wife usually doesn't monitor it like I do, but she has six kids to ferry around till I get back. I will be data logging and looking for ways to improve MPG's when I return. Good luck. Donald
  3. Apparently, people are watching!! I had a gentleman last month that was all giddy to talk about how nice the van is and how big it is. Then, a week later at Wal-mart, another saw my family at the check out line, and said "you must be driving that large van". I was kinda spooked by it at first.
  4. Backfire1, Glad to hear that you got the OBD II reader. I bought another one for my car, that way I can leave the other in my NVP. Have you checked your air filter to see how it looks? When I installed the CAI, I noticed that the factory air filter smelled like oil. Just a thought.
  5. Backfire1, I bought the OBDLink MX Scantool off of Amazon. It is Bluetooth and also has a battery saver feature so it doesn't drain the battery. Also, it is supposedly hacker proof. It is going for $100.91 on Amazon today. If it is too much, a cheaper ELM327 device will work too. I bought the cheap one first, but upgraded due to the battery saver feature and form factor of the device. As for the CAI, I am still monitoring the MPG since install last week. I will probably fill up today and see how it went. My engine still is getting broke in, plus I am currently hauling 10 people as my in-laws are in town. I hope to see an improvement. My first tank I got 14.2 hand calculated, not to bad coming from a Suburban with the 5.3. BTW, we bought our NVP at Capital Nissan in Wilmington.
  6. Backfire 1, I see that you are in the great state of North Carolina as well. As you know, it is summer time, so MPG will be affected by use of the A/c. I have the V8, and just got it two weeks ago. Already, I have put a CAI on to help with airflow. I am monitoring my MPG's via an OBD II reader. Anyways, have looked for a CAI for the V6? Mine is for a Titan, but it worked with adding a longer hose connector. See if there are any CAI's for other Nissan models with the same engine as the SV.
  7. @BuzGuy, Try the Air Raid CAI for better airflow. I put one on my van last Week, and am data logging my MPG via Dash Command and my OBD II reader. I wil post results as I log more miles.
  8. Welcome to the forums! My family of 8 has had ours for two weeks now, and it is a nice upgrade from our old Suburban.
  9. Just bought a new SL for the family on 30 June. Traded in my wife's Suburban for this. It is really roomy for our family of eight, and has better get up and go then the Chevy. I haven't owned a Nissan since I bought my 1991 Silva in Japan, and am surprised by the luxurious seats and creature comforts. The NVP seems like a great deal for large families.
