Long time listener, 1st time caller.

Picked up a 2020 NV3500, she has 24k miles and is bone stock.  I painted factory wheels and kept the caps stock.  When I paint the bumper, mirror and trim, I will paint the caps too...

5 new 285s on OEM wheels, full size OEM wheel on the spare.  I intend to rotate the spare into the tire rotation schedule ?

287/70R17 on factory wheels. Zero clearance issues, no wider than OEM tires as far as the door is concerned.  At full lock, I have atleast 1.5" before i need to trim the inner mud flap ...

I think I could have fit 305s with no lift... maybe next time.

Love my van!!

I just picked duo a 2013 NV 3500 HD and went to take the chrome "hubcaps" off and was shocked to see they don't come out. This forum has been a great source of info, thanks so much! Just wondering how the chrome painted inserts have been holding up over the years? My head tells me not to try and paint over chrome, that it's not gonna last. The way you guys have done yours look awesome tho, wondering if they still look as good years later?

I think you may be better off plasti-dipping the chrome. It sticks nicely to the chrome, and can be fully removed in the future for changes or selling.

No idea if @AzGRMW007 is still around, says he last visited in '22.  Maybe he'll see this ping.

Paint is going to hold up on the chrome just like anywhere else...it depends completely on how you prep and apply it, cover it, and take care of it.  I plasti-dipped my chrome and it's held up great, but it's on the emblem and such, not the wheels.
