  1. Welcome and congrats! I've never seen a red NV, even on a lot. Post up a photo when you get it!
  2. It started off as a small dot and has grown rapidly over the last few weeks. The center strip down the middle of the bottom cushion where it is sewn together is also worn like this. No gray left at all. I dont see anything in the warranty book that says it will not be covered unless they claim "normal wear and tear". I dont think this is normal for 18 months of use!
  3. See photo. This is my driver's side, bottom cushion. Van is around a year and a half old now with 28,000 miles. I dont carry anything in my back pockets, not even my wallet. This is just from getting in and out. I've had plenty of cars with leather and none have done this even after many years of driving. It actually looks worse in person! My van goes in for service and my 3rd radio on Monday and I plan on asking them about it. I am searching through my 5/100k warranty booklet as well to see if it may be covered.
  4. I have had radio gremlins (I am waiting on my 3rd radio to come in). I had some QC issues when I first picked it up but they were handled. Since then no major issues at all. We really like the van, put on 25,000 miles in one year with a mix of towing our camper and just running around a lot!
  5. I think he modified Ford E350 bars if I remember right. They were close enough in dimensions to make it work.
  6. I'm jealous. A) you fit in a garage. B) you got the Special Edition anti-gravity model NV that seems popular on this site!
  7. How long for the conversion? Does it still carry the full warranty when on a "used" van not brand new from a dealer?
  8. My in-laws are moving South to be closer to us and the grandkids. OK, just the grandkids and we happen to be here! We usually visit them and my parents for Thanksgiving up in Ohio. Normally we take my wife's Sienna as it gets way better mpg and we dont need all the extra room, it is easier to park, etc. Well they want me to take my NV up there to tow their camper back to SC. Camper is a brand new Trail Manor, the biggest model they make. It is only 22ft closed I think. It also only weighs around 4000 lbs and sits low so should be an easy go of things vs. my toy hauler. The fun part will be towing it through the VA and WV mountains up and down Rte 77! There are some steep and long grades. Passed many a camper being towed going up barely going 50mph with their flashers on. Coming back down you can smell brakes cooking on semi's and tow vehicles. I've towed our camper through the NC and TN mountains and it wasnt much of an issue but those are pretty short and tame compared to VA and WV. They tow it through there all the time with a brand new Silverado 1500 with no issues, they just take it really slow and steady when needed. My father in law needs his truck to haul a big landscape trailer full of stuff so I am bringing the camper. My biggest worry is his camper cost about twice as much as ours! That and I hope we dont get some freak snow/ice storm in the mountains...
  9. That is definitely an extended E350 Ford Van with a custom rear cap from the cab to the rear. The front isnt the same as a HD Ford F350. Extended E350's were common for shuttles or cargo vans. The van in the photo still has the twin opening side doors just like a stock E350, they just extended them to the new roofline.
  10. Thanks for the info. I havent actually gotten to far into checking into the mounts and options. I like the idea of the bar down there vs. up on my roof rack even though a big 50" lightbar up there could be fun. Better throw up high but risk of damage when I am carrying stuff up there on the rack. Definitely think I will be doing this as a next project especially with winter coming and shorter days.
  11. I have deer, coyote, fox, turkey, etc... and 5+ miles of pitch black 2 lane at 55 mph through lots of farmland. Once deer are on the move I see at least 3-4 a week that were hit. The second NV owner in my area hit a big buck 3 weeks in of ownership. Did nearly $10,000 in damage! Need light!! How did you mount it in the bumper? Just cut the plastic slats out and use a right angle driver to mount the brackets?
  12. Awesome! Thanks for the pics. Looks like that little bar has some nice throw on it. I'll definitely look into them.
  13. That is pretty sweet looking! Nice rims and tires too. Are those 20"?
  14. I know this thread is old but I think it would be cool to see a lowered NV. I am sure any reputable air bag company could rig something up, they have done some pretty insane things. The new gen actually ride halfway decent too. It most likely wouldnt be very inexpensive since it would be custom but it may not be too crazy.
  15. Well that is a big bummer. Appreciate you trying it out and letting us know! If you do find a workaround please let the forum know. I can tell you that on my Tundra that anything like that was easily changed at the dealership using their Techstream computer. You could change the locking, how many presses to unlock all doors, lights flashing, etc. You just needed to ask when you brought it in for service and they could hook up their system and edit everything. When I had a few rentals while my van was getting fixed I noticed some had the ability to change in their in car menu's. Ford was the easiest, there was a sub menu and you could change all sorts of things. There has to be a way to do it... EDIT: This is weird. I went online and your technique DOES work on some Nissan models, mostly older. I guess that guide was from 2010. It worked on some 2014 and newer Titans but not newer Armada's. On the Armada forum they were told they had to take it into the dealer to get the settings programmed just like my old Tundra. The owner did have it changed when he went for service.
  16. Awesome! Thanks for trying it and please let us know if your version works.
  17. The site search is your friend... Not trying to be a a** but several questions you have asked could have been found in 10 seconds of searching! Most auto forums searching is really bad but this being a small forum the Google search embedded works quite well. You get your answer immediately vs. waiting for somebody to reply. You have tons of questions and have posted up some great photos in other threads. Posting is encouraged here but searching first honestly is faster. If all else fails you can check your manual. Granted this is a year or so back but I am guessing it works. Try it! If it does work, please post back here so we have a confirmation for future searches. If you have tried this or this does not work - again - post back so we know in the future something has changed. I quote from the other thread: You can shut this auto lock feature off. Open the driver door and leave it open, stick the key in the ignition, push the auto lock button on the armrest to the lock position. The door locks will lock and then immediately unlock them selves. Bingo ! fixed. It's described in the manual.
  18. Nice photos! Thanks for taking all of those, the mat looks nice in there.
  19. Nice work and excellent video shots. I dont plan on installing any running boards but I saved your vid if I do!
  20. Pretty nice to have a son that can weld aluminum! I went with the Topper tubular galvanized steel rack. It was around $400 shipped and supports 400-750 lbs depending on supports used. I do wish it was a little wider but I think the fancy Aluminess ones were the same width. Mine is definitely heavier than aluminum but nothing two people cant handle for the install. Works out for our needs the way I have it modified (I needed to carry 3 kayaks and didnt want to stack them). Please post up photos when it is finished. I know the guy that owns the "Beast" on here had one custom made out of aluminum based off the Aluminess style, even with the same ladder design by a custom boat fab shop. I wanted to buy one but they would not ship it.
  21. That panel from Left to Right - 12V power/cigarette ligher outlet; seat heater rocker; AC 120V inverter switch; tow mode switch; bumper prox sensor switch; blank switch; seat heater passenger; USB/Aux input for radio All of those just have pigtails on them though, not the larger Molex plug you show. Below the radio on our SL is the auto climate control panel. I am not sure what is there on a 1500 cargo. Google the part number on the black box to see if you get a hit. It was too fuzzy even blown up for me to read it.
  22. Found these guys with a couple minutes of searching. There are a few Titans running CNG, maybe post on Titan Talk or similar sites to ask them.
  23. What model is that bar? Would love some nighttime shots as well.
  24. Yes, Aluminess is anything but cheap, even in USD! They are considered to be among the best in quality. The custom roof rack with ladder for our NV runs around $2500! Freight tacks on another $300-$500 too since it is so large.
