  1. We aim for Southern Utah, Nevada, and Arizona. Mostly BLM camping. We check the weather each morning and determine the route!
  2. Hi All, Still did 68 days on the road in 2022 and 2023 with the day job! She just rolled over 58,000 miles. Heading to the SW for the month of May.
  3. Hi All, It's been 6 years now since I did this simple build. We still spend about 70 days a year on the road and have not changed anything! Going to have to loose that silly day job.
  4. I have not towed a camper but drag tractors around Washington. Most of the trips I add a smaller JD 110 tractor and a Hit and Miss engine so the total weight with the trailer is 8,000 pounds. I use the EZ Lift head and torsion bars, tows very nice. Mine is a 2500 HD with the V-8.
  5. Hey Timsbeast, How is your build going?
  6. Great choice. When I decided to look at the NV2500 I made it a 1/2 mile away from the lot and was sold.
  7. We are heading out for 2-1/2 weeks next Thursday! Plan on getting as far south as Death Valley via Utah.
  8. Hi radin2son, Thanks for the plug. Sometimes I try to look for changes/mods I can make so my post gets bumped to the top! We have been out 71 days so far this year (still have that silly day job) and all is well. Mine is a simple build that has worked well for us. Best part this year was pulling into the east entrance of Glacier National Park and found there is a length restriction to go over the pass. I explained we wanted to run the "Going to the Sun Road". Ranger saw we had a Nissan and knew we were under the length restriction. That horizontal line on the hillside is the road! Best Regards, Mike
  9. That's Ashley Lake west of Kalispell, MT. One of the free, dispersed campgrounds we stayed at.
  10. Just got back from 17 days out and 3,524 miles. Traveled through Washington, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, Wyoming, up through Glacier into B.C. and home through Okanogan Valley. Took every back road possible and avoided interstates most of the trip. This is year 3 for my simple build and so far would not change a thing.
  11. Just got back from 17 days out and 3,524 miles. Can add South Dakota to my list!
  12. 2015 High Top 2500 I converted to a camper with the V-8. It likes 2100 RPM and have got over 17 MPG quite a few times. Passenger took photo. This fill showed 464 mile range.
  13. Liked my 2500 High Top so much we went back to find a AWD smaller than our aging Denali. Got a Nissan Murano Platinum. It has butt heaters and coolers!
  14. Welcome! First time I saw a NV High Top was at the local Fair hauling 4-H dogs and towing a 26' Bunkhouse. Mine was in my driveway 2 weeks later,
  15. Welcome! Great tow rig. I drag antique tractors all over Washington. Check out my build under Conversions, "Laharview Farm Camper".
  16. If the running lights on the NV work but no power to the running light pin in the trailer connection, the fuse is in this block behind the battery. I believe it was F9. There are two clips on the fuse block you can release and lift the fuse block up a bit. The fuse purpose you are looking for is listed on the fuse block, not the lid.
  17. I think a section where we can post our NV travels to would be cool. Pros and Cons of sites/areas.
  18. Hey Bamps, Which model did you get? I run a Garmin DashCam 10 looking forward and would like to have a rear looking unit.
  19. I had the same issue and found there is a fuse in the fuse box on the passenger side that was blown. I found this when I hooked up a friends trailer with bad wiring. No trailer lights but the NV was fine. Nice design in that it protects the truck lights. As I recall I had to use most of my fancy words getting it replaced. Not in an easy location.
