    rust

I have been working in Ventura CA by the coast. The roof of my 2012 high top looks terrible. Not only rusting on stone chips but all around the factory spot welds where the ribs are attached to the roof skin. I am going to sandblast and treat the areas then have the whole top of the van sprayed with Line-x. I don't see any other option other than repainting and I would just end up with the same problem.
  2. I had e track mounted in my other van. I would use 1/4 20 (or larger) rivnuts. They are excellent for mounting things to interior sheet metal. You will need to buy a tool to install them but you can find them cheap on ebay etc.
  3. Also note I did add the OE wiring for towing . It connects up under the passenger side fender right into the empty spots in the harness. Adding the relays under the hood and done. Took about an hour.
  4. I don't know about this one. Mine wasn't a factory tow pkg model and there isn't any wiring for the switch back there behind the panel. Although there is what looks like a larger connector that was taped up but I would imagine a sub harness would need to be used. Probably impossible to find just like the wire /small harness for the navigation usb aux input. It's availabe in Europe but it's like $200 bucks. I had to make my own. So until I find one of these with tow haul mode in a boneyard or someone pulls apart their dash and takes some photos, I won't know.
  5. I had the blank panels and replaced them with the controls. The controls come as set both left and right go into one harness that plugs into the clock spring. The airbag has to come out (two screws on the back of the steering wheel under little covers) The blank control panels just pull out after that. The panels with the controls have small philips screws in the back side. They are tricky to get to. As far as getting the controls working. I'm still working on that. I am trying to find an BCM that has the options such as cruise etc and then I will go from there. I don't have my radio/nav in yet because I still have to make a harness for the USB AUX input on the back of the radio since Nissan does NOT sell that cable and it does not have a good part number.
  6. I have a million pictures of the process but my internet speed is so terrible here that I cannot upload images. I have tried and was only able to resize them to a point where it was worthless. I will take my computer to a Starbucks or something and see if I can upload them to a photobucket album that I can post a link to. I also have photos of rebuilding the front end damage of the van I will post. I should also be getting the receiver hitch that I ordered in a couple days and can take photos of where I tied in to the factory wiring harness for the tow harness.
  7. I would buy an OEM key from ebay or amazon and have it cut. You could use an OEM chip key even if you don't need the chip. I have some aftermarket key for mine with black plastic head (no nissan logo) and it does not work real well but that's because the dealer lost the key for it and had to have one cut with the code I guess.
  8. Awesome! I would love to look at what they did. I am wondering then if the parts are from the Titan XD model? I am 100% confused on their statement of using 90% OEM parts. I know the rear diff is shared with the XD as far as everything reads online. Just wondering how these companies would have obtained these parts prior to the release of the actual vehicle they came on?
  9. Do you have photos of the Topper rack? I want to order a rack/basket but Aluminess is very proud of their stuff and out of my current budget. lol $350 for a galvanized rack sounds pretty attractive to me but I have only seen stock photos of it on websites.
  10. I have a TON of photos of this that I can add to the thread. I have taken the entire front interior out of mine. Yes, the entire thing. I even took that overhead compartment out. I will resize the photos and upload if it can help anyone. Also as far as the button panel goes you have to pry gently on the right then slide it out towards the passenger side it has a clip that goes around the back of the panel on the left side (by 12V outlet) and if you pry from that side you will break it off or deform it. I plan on taking photos of the other things I have been doing: adding factory satellite radio, OEM Nissan tow pkg wiring, I am even attempting to add factory cruise control.
  11. Looks like a great idea. Any information on pricing? I imaging shipping charge on these would be insane.
  12. I am 220lbs and have walked on the roof of my NV and the two others that we had and I drove at the glass company. Just be careful. Never dented or hurt it all.
  13. If you don't mind me asking what did those run? Also what type of wheel and specs? Thanks :2thumbs:
  14. They really won't cover that under warranty? I'm guessing you bought it new from the same dealer you asked to perform the repair? Sounds like bs to me. I'd try again since there is no reason it shouldn't be covered.
  15. Check out the ebay item #201548133545 they have the whole harness and all sensors for 199 or best offer. Offer less and tell them you only need the one sensor.
  16. I would love to know because even Quigley says those exact numbers and even saying it could be serviced at any Nissan dealer. Parts discarded were probably from the NV not the Titan. I even thought the only difference between Quigley and Advanced was the bracket that blocks 4 low on Quigley models. I'm not afraid to tear my van to pieces to do it just need to know if I can source all parts to do so. I'd love any information about anything from any of these owners. Of course I will share my experience and photos of this if I have enough information to move forward with it. Thanks!
  17. I emailed them and they didn't say they had any also asked if they had any blemished units or prototypes for sale also no. As far as the factory nav unit goes I don't care about the navigation I just want the satellite radio with the large display. I use my google/phone for the other stuff anyhow. I don't care for any aftermarket radios they alway have and will look out of place to me. Want to sell your yours?
  18. I have found a bunch of parts and ordered some others online. So I modified my list of needed items above. The seller lied and the frame is damaged. I will probably just get some frame extensions and cut the old ones off and weld the new ones in place. The photos of this thing were so terrible that I didn't even know if it had the console, which it did so I have one available if anyone needs it. I did get a 100% aluminum radiator as a replacement that is very cool and makes the oem look wimpy. I will be eliminating the factory clutch fan and shroud since they are shot and will fab up an aluminum shroud with dual electric Spal fans. Stay tuned...
  19. Thanks! Some place easy to see when viewing forum topics would be ideal. For example "Marketplace: NV vans for sale, NV vans wanted, NV parts for sale, NV parts wanted, wheels & tires for sale/wanted" then even if people forget where to post mods could move the post to the correct section. As far as the rebuild I'm pretty excited. It took over 3 months to arrive since the seller lied to me and cost twice as much so it set me back a bit but I am on it now and let's just say UPS & FedEx are getting to know my place real well.
  20. I have been reading and see that there are several ads for the available 4x4 conversions available and they mention 90% OEM Nissan parts. My question is, What are the parts that are OEM and are the sourced from the Titan? Then what would be the non-oem items? at 10% does that just leave the shifter and linkage? I would really like to have 4wd but I can't see spending 10-11k on a conversion since that's more than I have in the whole van. If these are OEM parts off of a Titan finding these parts in a salvage yard would be very easy, correct? Any info, ideas, etc?
  21. Ok I know this isn't the most popular automotive forum online but having a community marketplace or classified section somewhere on here would be pretty helpful. It seems that people looking for things are posting wanted ads for parts and items that they are looking for in various sections of the forum leaving posts overlooked etc. Is there a possibility of adding a section like this?
  22. I was able to pick some up on eBay with the actual "sonar" module for $25. Hoping to add it to my NV if possible. I would look on there I have had luck searching used parts on ebay and messaging the seller asking if any of the other parts from the van were for sale if I saw what I needed in the photos.
  23. I placed mine in the back. It fits fine between the ribs with minimal cutting and no loss in structural integrity. I will get some better photos but it's difficult to upload due to my horrible internet connection.
  24. I have looked around and the best I have found on a front clip is $1500. I thought for sure someone would have left over parts from an aluminess bumper etc. Is there a classified section where people can post wanted/for sale ads? Also I just noticed the van has manual windows and standard radio/cd player. Is the factory GPS/Nav satellite radio plug & play? Anyone here installed power windows on a manual model?
