  1. SUNDAY, the 28th JAN, 2018, spotted tramming hard eastbound I-8 in Southern Cal between El Cajon & Golden Acorn Casino, a silver NVP with plates reading VANLIFE. That was me you passed, was that you?
  2. My aftermarket cam displays constant. I installed it that way and when I hitch up my trailer, the cam on that plugs into the system and shows that too. These guys are a little pricey but well worth it IMO. Their products are solid. https://www.rearviewsafety.com
  3. Before an investment on this is made the traction control shuts off automatically on my Frontier with factory lockers. Also it may be easier and cheaper just to pull the entire axle housing and replace it than to shim the gearing in the old housing using a dial indicator etc.etc as that may take several assemble/disassemble in the process. Last time I checked on the price of that was around 1500/2000 bucks and that was a few yrs back.
  4. Whoa whoa whoa!!! Does everyone know how to salute properly though, we cant just go running around hammering out sloppy salutes!! I for one was confused having never been in the military so I looked it up. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JQMUFyP5nnA
  5. Sure hope they fit for you!! They look screechin’
  6. Done, no codes pending.
  7. Whoa!! Full of DIRT!! Purge vlv, sloenoid vent vlv, HOSES and evap canister ALL FULL of DIRT, DIRT and once I got that all out, DIRT came out!!! The fender well is a STUPID place for a vent especially if you live 25 miles from pavement. This NV has less than 20k on the ODO. These pics show where the vent will be moved to.
  8. I learned this from the Nissan dealer here with my Frontier that had the same problem. My past Frontiers were fixed like this after 3 returns under warrantee. By the time i get to a commercial dealer several hundred miles away several times and buy the gas, time and room it would be cheaper to fix it myself and be done. What most dealers do is blow out the dirt and clear the code anyways. This is not limited to Nissan either, my Toyota did the same thing and my son’s Ram as well. The evap systems on these vehicles are designed for mostly pavement street use. My NV has less than 20k and is under warratee but Ill do this one.
  9. I ordered parts today but still need to get a long hose. Basically what Im doing is taking the vent hose from the wheel well, (stupid place to put it) and running it all the way forward to the engine compartment so it sucks air from the intake airbox. That way the purge valve and solenoid vales dont get filled full of dirt every 16/20k miles
  10. I 4x4 a lot. Have in the past many yrs. have have Jeeps from the 40’s CJ to the YJ in the early 90’s. I decided to not convert my NV. It was not designed to 4X in, i is too big and heavy and basically will not take you out where you may think. I get off grid a lot in mine, two wheel drive is plenty for the purpose. I have a nissan Frontier 4wd presently too and it gets me anywhere i need to go but the NV stays on dirt roads that i feel comfortable with while the Fronty gets me up old abandoned mining roads ect that are rougher.
  11. I pulled out the bed which was a 40”x70” and built a new bed 70” x 76”.

I like photography and have been getting into genealogy quite a bit. Lately I’ve been trying to get a decent timelapse going on but am still working out bugs. Through my genealogy I have learned that I am American and the “of _______ descent” would be way too long and crazy to post up. I’ll just say I had ancestors on both coasts, Atlantic and Pacific, of what is now the U.S. of A. in the 1700’s. I like photography at night and use my NV to catch a few shots here and there more flexible than with my Nissan truck (Frontier) and little trailer.
  13. My NV now has popped the P0448 code. I thought it was the dirt I drive through daily. On my Nissan Frontiers I have had the same problem and ended up moving the canister filter to a new location via a long hose. Will try it on this
  14. There’s a little place i go in my truck that’s pretty secluded, not real rough but overgrown. Well, the NV never hesitated once. The overgrown palo verde trees put up a fight though. I got a little concerned about the rooftop solar array but all is good. We just got home this morning
  15. I used rattletrap on mine and was impressed with how much quieter the van is. https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=rattletrap&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=174211324760&hvpos=1t1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=31345263472723345&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=t&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9030959&hvtargid=kwd-796997712&ref=pd_sl_91jroltk79_e
  16. My wife is 5’2” and 105 lbs and she does her side no problem.
  17. My Nissan Frontier has squeal brakes too, its a nissan trait, all my Frontiers did it, my son had a Titan that did it. I have not noticed it on this 2015 NV 2500 i have yet tho
