That's the same place I bought all the interior panels and retainer clips from a SV model , to fit my totally naked S model . Great prices and fast shipping . Glenn

Can any Nissan dealer do warranty work on a NV 3500 passenger?
axulsuv replied to nmsu's topic in Nissan NV 3500 HD
AS a ex Nissan mech. , I can add that for minor stuff most dealers will do it if they've got a competent tech and can fit it in , but call and ask them first ... And remember the NV Dealers have NV techs that have NV training .... I used to do GTR's and like the NV , that is a whole other different Nissan ... Glenn -
I use my V6 1500 cargo as a daily driver , and my avg. mileage meter hasn't been reset in about 9k .... It still resides at 19.6 . Not great mileage for sure , but great mileage for this type of vehicle :) Glenn

Price , Build Quality , Nissan reliability ... The Cabin layout ... And the ford dealer REALLY pissed me off ! :) Glenn

Don't some of the "techs" out there today just make you cringe .... Thats why after 35-40 years of twisting a wrench for a living , all I do these days is restore old British Iron , The kids don't want to do that ,'cause you only get one shot to get it correct !

The driveshaft should have the same angle from shaft thru ujoint to flange at both ends to stop any harmonics from developing and causing a vibration . alot of lifted 4x4's run into this issue , and is your driveshaft rotating in 2WD. ? or is it a auto engage system ? What kind of front axle engagement does the Quigley use ? As a last resort , remove the front driveshaft if possible without loosing fluid from transfer case , (aka slip yoke and not a bolt on flange ..) and test drive to see if the problem goes away or changes . Good Luck ! :) Glenn

I use Mobil 1 0w 20 and a K&N oil filter and change it at about 8k .... No worries Glenn

I did the roof of mine with the foil like you did , complete front to back . I haven't got around to building installing a headliner panel yet , but I installed factory sidepanels as mine was a naked cargo low roof and packed plain old fiberglass housing insulation behind them all . It made such a difference in the noise level and temp inside , whether it's hot or cold outside . For the places I go and overnight it has worked wonderful . But some solar panels and a charger/inverter may be in the furure .... Glenn

YUP!!! Maybe 1 in 100 even know where the book is , let alone ever break the seal on the cover .... ( just 40 years of dealer work experience ) Glenn

Look around here , I posted pictures of wiring diagram and terminals needed to do it with the stock head unit. Glenn

If I get a chance I'll try and find out where the rear end is sourced from ... Some of the Nissan techs I've trained thru the years still like me ....? ' cause a lsd or a locker would be something I'd like to have for some of my adventures ...! Glenn

If my memory is at all any good from the time I've spent under my van .... I would think there is plenty of room opposite the OE tank , aka under the slider in front of the rear wheel . Plumbing it in without affecting the evap system would be my major concern ... Glenn

My van has armrests on the front seats , if I care to fold it down . And I usually have a small cooler/lunchbox where the center console would be when traveling , Doesn't your van have the armrest as part of the seat ?
-
I travel all over competing in trials events with my NV . I don't have the center console in mine and to me it would just be in the way. That's the same reason I got a 1500 low roof V6 , it will haul all I need and with my bike trailer hitched up , I can still pull better than 20 mpg keeping with the flow of traffic. Glenn

I've got about 50k on mine and have not had issue 1 ... But it is also a 1500s , bare bones model that i'm slowly outfitting to suit my needs . Good to see another SC resident on here ... Glenn -
I wiped/sprayed some silicone spray on my sliders weather striping and it seats better and is quiet . Check the door fit from the outside though , and confirm that it is closing correctly , seams even and flush . Glenn

The dome lights in the NV will time out and shut off if doors are open , I camp in mine and it has been checked a few times , it just takes a few minutes . Glenn

New Owner - what's the best site for accessories?
axulsuv replied to Newneumanns's topic in Welcome! Introduce Yourself!
Oh , and I forgot ... http://www.factorynissanparts.com/Partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=214081 All the OE parts you could want , At more than fair prices too ! I think we still have to wait awhile for the aftermarket to embrace our van's like we do !!! Glenn -
You could possibly remove a leaf from each of the rear spring packs , on the front your pretty much stuck with it the way it is , without spending alot of cash ... Happy New Year to All !!! Glenn On a 3500 , check with your Nissan parts man and see if the front springs are the same part # on the 1500 , mine really doesn't ride that bad . And the 3500 may have a much heavier spring in front ?!?

I bought mine used too , it was a avis (or somebody's ) rental truck . It had 19k on it when I got it . Tips to increase your mileage 1; use the manual mode on the transmission and down shift with that to slow down , helps seal/seat the rings with compression braking . (if bought new , may help a little on a used one...) 2; if used , disconnect battery completely, wait 30 seconds , Then touch + and - terminals together (away from bat. posts !!!) for another 10 seconds . This will remove all power from the capacitors in the ecu 's and allow them to relearn your driving habits from scratch . In a few drive cycles the systems will have learned your parameters and how to respond . 3; get your alignment checked , They roll very easy when aligned correctly . 4; keep your tires inflated to spec , it seems high , but that's how it's designed.. 5; roll away from stoplights , They are not 1/4 mile cars ! 6; anticipate stops , decel with the tranny or roll into them ... I'm not trying to tell anyone how to drive , but your habits make the biggest impact ! I've Drag raced , still roadrace and autocross , and go ride my trials motorcycles whenever possible (main reason I bought this white elephant !) 7; A K&N drop in and 0w-30 mobile 1 help too ! I do a 45 mile commute daily , and I still average 20+ in town , at the speed limits or better ...basically empty 1500s V6 . But I get better when traveling with trailer and bikes ... Hope this helps someone !? Glenn
