  1. I just went and test drove one and the hood was hard to open , latch out of adjustment ...
  2. I just installed a cruise control kit last weekend , I 'm curious if it or me will get better mpg on my up coming vacation next week . will be a 1000 mile trip with just me , my 4 trials motorcycles and my aluminum Triton trailer and coolers and gear ... Can't wait to leave . :) Glenn
  3. Mine rattles lightly when it's cold out , I applied silicone spray to the rubber weather strips and it shuts just a tick tighter , noises gone .:) Glenn
  4. Read the fine print carefully , as most ext. warranties are not warranties at all ! just VERY Specific insurance contracts that cover a few things on the vehicle. Read the coverage details real close and look at all the inclusions and not covered items . There are some good ones available and some are not worth the paper they are printed on ! Buyer Beware !!!! Glenn
  5. I installed a crl window in my slider , it does not have a vent , But I believe you can order them with vents too . Glenn
  6. The ' Butt ugly ' kinda grows on ya , Imho it's a much better looking box than a E series or a Savannah... They look like they have a purpose ?
  7. 1000 + mile road trip weekend before last ., 30degree temps , Filled up with 0 ethanol 93 at start , and filled up with the same in alabama ... 1 kid and dog with me . 1 Trials bike in back on the way home . Hilly drive both ways . @ 65 to 75 , 22.8 average for the weekend ... I love this bread box V6 low roof , 35k on the clock Glenn
  8. OE ones are all I've seen as of now ...
  9. Dave ; I haven't ordered any yet , but if you go to http://www.clipsandfasteners.com and click on the Nissan logo you can find whatever you want . You just have to measure the holes you want the inserts for ... They have them for just about anything you can think of , all of OE. design I believe ...! Happy Hunting , and no , I haven't built my headliner panels yet ....): Glenn
  10. Just turned 30k on my 1500 S low top V6 , 20.8 average by computer , 21 by paper and pencil . commute is 50 miles a day 70% freeway , the rest 40 mph w/stop lights . I have seen the dash creep up to 25 on long road trips @ 70 mph . K&N air filter and 0w-30w mobil 1... I really like this van for what it is and gives ....
  11. I tow with my 1500 S v6 with no issues at all . aftermarket hitch and harness . And my v6 has a large tranny cooler ... so I would assume they all do ?! Glenn
  12. I gotta say , that makes me want to do some fresh rims when mine is due for tires ...
  13. you can access the manual for like $20.00 for a 24 hour time period , That's where I got my harness and plug info for my stereo ... you where looking at a different option , I don't remember how to locate it , but there is a option to gain access for 24 hrs. instead of buying the whole package .... Glenn
  14. I don't know of anyone that has tried on the vans ... you may want to see what will clear a 2wd Titan ...? Glenn
  15. See if your dealer will part with a factory cargo van floor mat , they come with a jute backing glued on and you could trim it for your needs ... And save your carpet from abuse and ground in sand ...
  16. Dennis , Go to this website and buy the shop manual for a day , that should give you plenty of time to find the info and diagrams your after ! http://www.nissan-te...ch_results.aspx Good luck with your project ! Glenn
  17. I've never heard of such a issue , But I would be checking the mounting flange really close for any irregularities ...
  18. Blaine ; Go to this address and buy the shop manual for a day and copy down all the info you need , and yes yours will be wired completely different than my base model . Mine just had the front door speakers , none in the dash top . http://www.nissan-te...ch_results.aspx Hint ; get some plastic or nylon trim removal tools , nissan built the clips and retainers not to loosen up and vibrate ! they are tight and strong ... The all plastic one below the ign. switch can be a bear . The Speaker holes are above the rear fenderwells , Pop the panels off to index your cut lines . Look in the gallery photos and there are some photos of one with OE. speakers in place , or just swing by your dealer and look at a S model without the fiberboard and you'll see the existing holes in the sheetmetal , screw holes and all . Have Fun , measure twice , cut once !!! Glenn
  19. Success !!! I just installed the rear speaker leads into the OE. plug and all works as designed ... I don't have the part # for the terminal ends to fit the plug as the parts man just handed me the 3 plastic compartment boxes he had with the terminal end pigtails in them and said "good luck !" ... Thru years of use , not a single connector was in it's proper compartment w/a part # , but out of about a 1000 3 inch pigtails I found 4 of the smallest ones and they are correct :) ! And then the parts guy just let me have them so that made it a great day . For right now I've just got some old self enclosed woofers plugged in to the rear channel and sitting on the floor , and the leads are just running out under the dash ... I'm glad I got the wire ends into the correct spots on the plug , 'cause I don't have anything here small enough to push the release tab in the plastic connector !!! Now to route the leads properly and remove the side panels and cut them open over the existing 6x9 holes in the body structure ... Does anyone know the Ohm rating on the stock front speakers ??? Or do I have to pull one and find out for myself ... It's all about balance and sound level with a low powered headset ... Glenn now to find a good aftermarket plug and play cruise control kit for my bare bones NV ...
  20. Four bolts and a couple plugs ... Airbag light will stay on after removal ... Glenn
  21. I bought mine specifically to make a basic weekend camper out of . I travel all over the southeast riding motorcycle Trials events , and with my 2 boys , dog and all the related gear, I've never wanted for more room . I've insulated the top and sides , added a removable bench seat and a window in the sliding door . I'm 6 feet tall and still have plenty of room to spread out my sleeping bag and stretch out with the bench seat in place . Mine is a 1500 s with the V6 and I find it has plenty of power for anything I plan to do with it . And although I practice driving for max. mpg. (just always have...) I get about 19 around town and 21/22 while traveling with trailer and bikes . (Aluminum trailer w/bikes only weigh about 600lbs.). I planned on using one of my miata's for a daily driver when I got the NV , but as my daily commute is only about 14 miles round trip , I'm spending what little free time I have rebuilding one of them from the ground up for my eldest son and may swap a ford 5.0 v8 into the other one for me ... And if your thinking about getting a NV , do it asap , With the demise of the Ford E series and the GM fullsize vans , NV's ain't gonna get any cheaper than they are right now . Nissan has kinda cornered the market for this type of vehicle at this time , and a sprinter doesn't even come close to one .(IMHO) Glenn
  22. Get it into your dealer and have them check the steering components and do a alignment on it . Sounds to me like the toe and caster may be out of spec . The tire monitor system may have it's own issues , Nissan's are a little overboard on the relearn / reset procedures . (IMHO) Glenn
  23. I found the pins for the rear channel in the stereo on my s , but no connector (female end on wire) in the harness plug , just open/empty holes ... I've got to get to my local dealership and get them to order me some harness repair pieces . I tried to use some out of a totaled 08 maxima we had at the shop but the terminals were to big to fit the pins and plug ... They are almost microscopic !!!! I've got copies of the schematic if you need it for terminal ID. and you'll have to run leads all the way to the 6x9 holes already in back . Glenn
